  1. I think if Sanchez lasts this long, the Jets would be absolutely ecstatic. He's quite possibly the best QB in this draft, and that is huge question mark for this team. They definitely will be thrilled if he's there (which I think he will be), but I still think Stafford is the best QB in the draft. Neither is an elite prospect (Peyton Manning, etc), though.
  2. Ok, no Cro Magnon for a dozen hours or so, so I guess I'll make the pick here. With no franchise QB sitting around waiting to be chosen here, the Lions instead choose to go with a franchise MLB. So, with the 20th pick, the Lions select ILB Rey Maualuga from USC. Truffle and Philly are now on the clock. I'll PM him.
  3. Cro Magnon and Detroit are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  4. 2111 and 2112 first round picks. That is a future I would not mind mortgaging. Your grandkids will forever rue the Anquan Boldin deal, however. I'd mortgage bukie's grandkids' future for Anquan Boldin. Any day of the week. Have you no heart Raisin? Consider the future generations here.

  6. goony and the Jets are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  7. Alright, since we haven't heard a thing from rchap in the mock draft in a long time, I went ahead and made the pick for Washington. The Redskins select Micheal Oher, OT from Mississippi. OMC and the Saints are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  8. Yeah, you may be right. Washington is the only team left with a glaring need at tackle since Detroit filled its need.
  9. Yes, I'd say it would. The question now is, does this change the Bills' pick at #11? Both Britton and Oher are considered a reach here, but will either be there at 28? I don't think it changes the pick, but I think it's worth asking before the Broncos' pick is made.
  10. Dew, many apologies. I just moved and had no access to the internet, and this site is banned at work. I would have made the exact same pick. Well, that's good to know that we made the right pick. :D And no problem on missing the turn, nothing you could have done about it.
  11. Alright, no sign of EhDubya, so we go with his original pick - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU. Mark Prior's Calves and the Broncos are now on the clock. I'll PM him.
  12. It shouldn't be too late, nobody has picked since then, right? Indeed, it is not too late to change since EhDubya has yet to pick. The 49ers' pick is now Brian Orakpo, OLB/DE, Texas.
  13. I didn't think he was a joke at #1. He's almost certainly the most talented player in the draft - maybe by a wide margin. If you're going to take a big risk, do it with someone that talented.
  14. I'll go ahead and accept Flames' pick for the Packers since it's been well over 12 hours. For the 49ers, jame sent me his top choices and the top player left on his board is Mark Sanchez. So, with the 10th pick in the draft, San Francisco selects QB Mark Sanchez from USC. EhDubya and the Bills are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  15. I've never understood the hate for Madden. I've always liked him. He slipped toward the end, but he was always the best football analyst. I can buy that, but I think most of the criticism is over the top. all the multi-legged turkeys and circling people in the crowd was what annoyed people And I had no problem with any of that.

  17. I've never understood the hate for Madden. I've always liked him.
  18. Good choice. I agree, Collinsworth is good. I'll miss Madden, though. I enjoyed him in the booth.
  19. :-)) Probably a good idea. I like Owens as well and the Chiefs could use a young player in the secondary. I like Thomas only in the right situation, though. At 5'10, he'll struggle to thrive in many offenses unless he's really talented. At this point, though, I think he's a good value.
  20. Ok, Nelson is the pick of Atlanta. Onward now to the Chiefs. KC so far has taken: 1st rd - Brian Orakpo, DE/OLB 3rd rd - Troy Kropog, OT 4th rd - Travis Beckum, TE Wide receiver might be a good option here. Mike Thomas of Arizona might be the choice here if the go receiver - especially since Thomas seems to profile similarly to Wes Welker, who I'm sure Pioli is very familiar with. Marko Mitchell of Nevada would be a darkhorse. Center is likely a need too, with Edwin Williams of Maryland being the top choice there. A real darkhorse candidate here - FB Brannan Southerland of Georgia. He's a decent receiver out of the backfield, can run the ball some and would be a good lead blocker for the Chief RBs. He's also excellent on special teams, which was something Belichick seemed to love in New England and it wouldn't surprise me if Pioli does as well. I'd probably go Thomas here, though.
  21. Definitely Crabtree here. I could potentially see Raji, but with Sean Rogers still around (for now) I think Crabtree is the pick. Plus, Braylon Edwards is likely to be gone by draft day so Crabtree is their new number 1. WrigleyField is now on the clock for the Bengals' pick. I'll PM him.
  22. So I guess the options here are Morrah, Casey and Nelson. I prefer Nelson over any of the three. I think he's a bit more of a big play threat than Morrah is and is more polished and developed than Casey. But I can also see the argument for Morrah as well.
  23. I went ahead and took Stephen McGee, QB, Texas A&M for the Seahawks. Now, we move on to the second pick, Atlanta. So far, here are the Falcons' picks: 1st rd - Clint Sintim, OLB 2nd rd - William Moore, S 3rd rd - Michael Hamlin, S 4th rd - TJ Lang, OL I think the Falcons are likely to do one of two things here, continue with the defense and find a DT or finally go offense with a pick and look at a TE (they've been rumored to be hot after Tony Gonzalez, but it doesn't look like that will happen). Shawn Nelson from Southern Miss or James Casey of Rice would be the best TE options here. Both would be terrific values here and would give Matt Ryan a solid receiving target to throw to. At DT, Corvey Irvin is intriguing, but very raw. Terrence Knighton is also a possibility. I'd go with one of the two TEs, I believe. Better value and both could contribute next year, while the DTs will have to develop. Thoughts?
  24. mhuber actually said he was going to go QB last round, so I'd say quarterback is the way to go. He was going to go with Chase Daniel, as it would fit Tim Ruskell's MO, but McGee is probably the better prospect. I'd go McGee as well. I'll give it til morning, though, to see if we get any other recommendations.
  25. No sign of Handlebar so we'll venture onward. The best defensive player in the draft is Aaron Curry and the Chiefs badly need defensive help. They've added some vet LBs this offseason and there are some questions about whether Curry can fit in a 3-4 scheme. But, he's just about the most sure thing in the draft and is highly talented. So, with the third pick in the draft, the Chiefs select OLB Aaron Curry from Wake Forest. mhuber and the Seahawks are now on the clock. I'll PM him.
