  1. Sorry, I'm very familiar with Luigs. It was the final two (Ivy and Hunt) I don't know a great deal about. Luigs might be my favorite center prospect given where he's likely to be taken. Unger and Mack are both better players, but will both cost late 1st, early 2nd round picks. Luigs may well go sometime in the third or fourth. AQ Shipley and Antoine Caldwell (who you're quite familiar with I'm sure  ) are also very good value centers who can be had in the 3rd to 4th rounds and likely be starters in a year or two. Luigs was for those who don't know him. As for Caldwell, he was my favorite lineman, moreso then Smith. Caldwell was as reliable as a center could get. If the Bears and Titans could Caldwell and Luigs, I would be one happy camper. And I believe Caldwell could end up going late center depending if there is a run on OL this yr. I'd be ecstatic if the Titans got either Caldwell or Luigs in the middle rounds. It'd give Kevin Mawae a replacement when he decides to retire and would allow Leroy Harris to move full-time to guard.
  2. Thanks, I should have known that. I think being sick is messing with my mind or something. I knew I should have looked it up.

  4. PCP is not online right now, but the top player from our previous board still lingers, so I'm going to go with him. With the 30th pick in the draft, the Titans select CB Darius Butler from Connecticut. Butler is very athletic and has the skills to play the Titans' largely man defense. He's not extremely physical, but that can improve. I'd love to take the homer pick here (DJ Moore) but Butler is the better player. Flames and CFNBM are now on the clock for the Cardinals. I'll PM them.
  5. For me I know nobody but Jonathan Luigs. And yes I would approve of Luigs because he would be a nice heir apparent to center for Kreutz. Corvey Irvin is a raw DT who didn't play much in college (injuries and UGA D-line depth) but has a pretty good amount of potential. He could start, if he develops. I actually like Derrick Williams quite a bit. There are others I'd take before him (Louis Murphy from Florida) but he's fast, can catch and can be an exceptional special teams player. Not much of a blocker from what I've heard, though. Munnerlyn is very athletic, but only 5'9. He's very similar to a poor man's Pacman Jones - short but his athleticism and physical play makes up for a lot. He's not nearly as athletic as Pacman, though, but he also doesn't have anywhere near the issues. Courtney Greene was likely to be a 1st day pick had he come out after his junior year. He chose to return, however, and his senior year was nothing special. If he recaptures his junior year play, he'll be a great steal for somebody. Joel Bell is a solid guard who can be a good player, but will probably need some time to improve technique and strength. The other two I don't know much about.
  6. Ok, the Bills here must use this pick to replenish the reason they have the pick in the first place. So, with the 28th pick in the draft, the Buffalo Bills select OT Eben Britton from Arizona.
  7. I was wondering that myself. His fielding deficiencies may be exaggerated at times on here, but I don't see him being all that good in the field. It makes me seriously doubt the defensive metrics all the more.
  8. That's mostly amassed in the lower minors while being well older than his league. Barton is a pretty decent backup outfielder, but he's a non-normal fit because I think he's bound to LF by his defense, and he doesn't have enough pop to be a power bat off the bench. He's like a slightly worse version of Matt Murton. Ok, had no idea about his defense, though I could tell his power was a bit low. Seems like he ought to get a chance with the Braves given how little outfield depth they have.
  9. What's keeping Barton's value so low? He's 26, but has decent minor league numbers. .314 avg .413 obp .475 slg A little light on the slugging, but I think I might give an .888 career OPS (though I realize that's not the best measure for a minor leaguer) a shot in a bench role, at least.
  10. EhDubya and the Bills are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  11. CCP and Exile are now on the clock for Indianapolis' pick. I PMd them.
  12. Yeah, I voted Nats too. "Get your Red on" might make a little bit of sense (but still be terrible) if it were the Reds using it, but with the Nationals using it it really makes no sense.
  13. As an FSU fan, I would LOVE to see EB go to a team like this. I think he would thrive in that type of professional environment. Honestly, if you don't thrive in the Patriots' organization, you won't thrive anywhere.
  14. Alright, still no sign of Warpticon, so I guess I'll make this pick. Warp mentioned in the previous draft that the Dolphins needed pass rushing help pretty badly. Luckily, the second fantastic value to come off the board is primarily a pass rushing OLB/DE. So, with the 25th pick in the draft, the Dolphins select OLB/DE Aaron Maybin from Penn State. WrigleyField 22 and the Ravens are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  15. Here ya go dew: Many thanks, my friend.
  16. Warpticon and the Dolphins are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  17. Can't find it online yet, but I just saw on Total Access that Torry Holt has signed a 3-year deal with the Jags.
  18. I actually like it quite a bit. It's not significantly different from the old one, but it's a little sharper. And this is old news, by the way.
  19. The Patriots have two fantastic values to choose from here that fit a need perfectly for them. They decide to go with the slightly better value, however. So, with the 23rd pick in the draft, the Patriots select OLB/DE Everette Brown from Florida State. Brown is probably a top 15 talent at absolute worst and likely is good enough for top 10. Combined with Jerod Mayo this will be a lethal LB duo for years to come. Vanilla Ice and the Falcons are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  20. Post Count Padder and the Vikings are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  21. Understandable, and I'd have to agree. Which makes me wonder why you think Detroit would do well to take Stafford 1st over all. I don't see that working out well for them. The only reasons he's considered potential 1st material are because he is a QB and Detroit needs a QB. It's not because he's clearly the best draft prospect. I think Detroit would do well taking him because he's the best QB prospect in the draft (in my opinion), Detroit desperately needs a QB and I think he's worth the first round pick. I don't think he's worth trading 3-4 picks and paying top 5 money to. There are better values in the draft for teams slotted lower, but since Detroit has the pick and won't be able to trade out of it, I think taking Stafford is their best choice. The ideal move would likely be to trade out of the first pick, but since it's so unlikely that Detroit can do it, I'd go Stafford. Plus, the dropoff from Jason Smith to Eben Britton or Michael Oher is far less, I think, than the dropoff from Stafford/Sanchez to Josh Freeman or the QBs in the later rounds. That's why I think Detroit would do well to go QB, OT, defense in its first three picks instead of OT first pick.
  22. They must've updated their mock; it's now James Johnson at 16 and Hansbrough at 26. Draft Express doesn't take need into consideration with their mocks this early, so I'd take it with a grain of salt. Yeah, it mentions at the top that the latest update was Saturday.
  23. I think if Sanchez lasts this long, the Jets would be absolutely ecstatic. He's quite possibly the best QB in this draft, and that is huge question mark for this team. They definitely will be thrilled if he's there (which I think he will be), but I still think Stafford is the best QB in the draft. Neither is an elite prospect (Peyton Manning, etc), though. Sanchez will go top 7. If he gets past Seattle, someone will trade up (Denver, Tampa). Sanchez isn't an elite prospect, but I expect him to have a better career than Stafford. Reminds me a lot of Aaron Rodgers. I wouldn't trade up to get either top QB in this draft - unless it was a Brady Quinn type situation with one of them falling to the bottom of the first round and I was still getting a steal. Of course, that doesn't mean a team won't do it. I don't think it's necessarily a certainty that the Broncos would have an interest in Sanchez, especially if the reports are true that they demanded Orton to to make the Cutler deal happen and that McDaniels really likes him. The Bucs could trade up, but I wonder if they have some real interest in Josh Freeman. I keep hearing they do and numerous mock drafts have them taking him and that makes me wonder.
  24. Going by this mock draft, the Grizzlies would have three first round point guards on their roster next year (Conley, Jennings and Collison). I don't really understand taking Jennings over Tyreke Evans, either.
  25. I think the Lions would do well to start the draft with Stafford, take whoever remains of Oher/Britton at 20 and then take the best defensive player on the board (Laurinaitis, Ziggy Hood, etc would all be options) with the first pick of the second round. That gets franchise QB and franchise LT solved, plus it gives defensive help immediately.
