  1. What happened to him? I swear I saw mocks that had him in the top 10 a couple months ago. He dropped a lot when teams couldn't figure out if he could play De or OLB.
  2. Wow, kinda surprised Slay went ahead of Banks.
  3. Haha, pretty close to it. I was convinced they were jumping up to grab Johnthan Banks and was perfectly fine with that. I really like the Hunter pick, though. Big, athletic, fast receiver who adds firepower this year to replace the loss of Jared Cook and is insurance in case Britt continues to be bad and the Titans cut him loose. Now I'm hoping Amerson falls to us in the third and we grab him there. Maybe a Lemonier, Gholston or Alonso to close out the third then.
  4. Thats true. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on them, but they have so little offensive talent that I feel they need to focus heavily on it in the draft. They still can, but it's that much more important now.
  5. I'm really hoping the Titans fund a way to come out of tonight with either Johnthan Banks or David Amerson. Something like Damontre Moore/David Amerson/Da'Rick Rogers would make me really happy. I doubt all three of those guys are available for us, though.
  6. They did apparently announce last night that Werner would be playing linebacker. There are others concerned about the scheme fit, although it should be noted that the Colts don't play a true 3-4. They like some others are more of a hybrid. He'll be paired with Mathis at that position, so I would assume Werner would play some run downs in place of Mathis and then maybe occasionally slide up to end on obvious passing downs? That makes some sense, though it seems like more jerryrigging than you should have to do with your first round pick.
  7. I think so, but it depends on your view of Kyle Wilson, I guess. Between Cromartie and Wilson on the team already and a deep CB draft, I think they had much, much bigger needs in the 1st.
  8. I have a random thought on t why they took him in the 1st round. Since rookie contracts are 5 years for 1st rounders and only 4 years for 2nd rounders, they may have decided to grab him there to have an extra cheap year before they have to give him more money on that second contract. This is helpful especially if they're planning on letting him develop on the bench a bit before throwing him into the fire. May not be a great reason, it's still a reach, and I think they could have traded back a few spots and still gotten him in the first, but it makes it a little less awful. That's very possible and a good point. My main concern is that perception is that a 1st round QB better start playin well immediately and I'm not sure the Bills' fans will have the patience to let their 1st round pick sit and learn for 2-3 years, especially if the Bills keep rotatin mediocrity at QB in the meantime. It was a big reach, a huge gamble and is unfair to the player too.
  9. That's a legit point. I was mainly looking at opportunity cost there. With two really early first round picks, the Jets had a chance to really make themselves better overall. However, by simply bolstering 2 of the team's strengths, I think they squandered that opportunity. Milliner and Richardson are very good players, but the Jets already have very good players at those positions. Maybe I should've called it something other than "worst" 1st round, but I kind of liken it to the Bears taking Geno Smith. Sure he's a good player and would've been a pretty good value there, but the Bears have clear holes and a good QB already which kind of negates a lot of the value that addition would bring them. Maybe "most squandered first round" or something would've been better wording.
  10. If we're talking about the same post, I think it was determined his beef was actually with McShay.
  11. New flash: Mock Drafts are dumb and paying people to do them is dumberer I'm not sure what the usual success rate is, but in fairness this was an extremely difficult draft to mock with so little top end talent available.
  12. Best 1st round: Vikings. They don't have much left in this draft, but to net Floyd, Rhodes and CP in a talent-thin daft is impressive. Worst 1st round: Jets. A team with no offensive talent has 2 first rounders and doesn't do anything to improve the offense? There were worse individual picks made and I don't really hate the fits of Milliner and Richardson, but you have to address that miserable offense with at least one of the picks. 3 best picks: - Arizona, Cooper: I don't care who you put at QB, WR, or RB with that line because nobody was going to be any good without some kind of o-line talent and Cooper's a step in the rich direction. - Carolina, Lotulelei: I'm not convinced he's a major health risk, but I am convinced he's one of the few star talents in this draft. A bit of a gamble for the Panthers but one I think can pay off big time. - Pittsburgh, Jones: I'm probably the biggest Jarvis Jones fan on this board, but this was a terrific value. The Dolphins gave up a 2nd round pick to select a guy in Dion Jordan who I'm not convinced is better than Jones. The Steelers are great at drafting and this is just another example. 3 worst picks: - Bills, Manuel: I like Manuel a lot, but as a developmental guy in the 3rd or 4th round. Not as a 1st rounder who's going to be expected to produce fairly quickly. - Cowboys, Frederick: This screams pure desperation to me. Dallas needed an interior lineman and took one regardless of whether he was worth the pick. This draft is way too lineman-deep to reach for one. - Bears, Long or Colts, Werner: I can't decide on this one, so I'll list both. The Bears did the same thin the Cowboys did, but on a better player. The Colts took a good player at a decent value, but I just don't see how he fits a 3-4. I don't think he's athletic enough to be a rush backer, but I'm not sure he's big and strong enough to play end. Just seems like a weird pick, especially with Datone Jones available.
  13. Elam's a really good pick. Was hoping he'd be there for the Titans.
  14. They think he's Harvin. Profile is similar. Harvin and Patterson are pretty dissimilar. Patterson does many of the same things Harvin does, but he's considerably bigger and does a lot more well. If he can hit his ceiling he's far better than Harvin. I don't like the comp either.
  15. I do think going to a team with more weapons would've helped. Cordarrelle seems like a good kid, though, so I think he'll work hard to improve.
  16. Fisher takes a super athletic player? I'm stunned.... Good pick, though.
  17. Good pick. I agree, but worth half the draft? Really steep price. I'm biased as I love Cordarrelle's freakish athleticism, but with their mediocre offense, I think it might be.
  18. Good pick.
  19. Trade! Is Minny really going to make a dumb trade for T'eo?
  20. He can play DE in a 3 front can't he? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I guess. Probably a little small though.
  21. Baltimore may take him.
  22. How does Werner fit into a 3-4? I doubt he's nearly athletic enough to be an OLB.
  23. This guard class is better than most any we've seen recently. And Long can play tackle. Look, there's no way to sugarcoat it. Emery has gotten cute two years in a row and not drafted the consensus BPA for any of his picks minus Jeffrey, the one high upside player. Could it be he's smarter then all the gurus and people out there?? I'm kind of with raw on this - it's not a good pick, but it's not bad either, especially given the Bears' need.
  24. Really nice pick by Minny.
  25. This guard class is better than most any we've seen recently. And Long can play tackle.
