  1. The Titans love very athletic players and, even though I've seen this guy as mainly a 3-4 OLB, he's just simply too good an athlete to pass up at this point. He can play a DE in a 4-3 and that's likely where the Titans would put him – potentially as a young Jevon Kearse. So, the Titans select Jason Worilds, DE/OLB, Virginia Tech. Andy and the Panthers are on the clock. I PMd him.
  2. gooney and the Giants are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  3. Trade down.
  4. I can't wait to see Donovan's response to possibly being dealt to Oakland, a destination he clearly does not hold in high regard. I actually think the Raiders can be pretty good with McNabb. They have nice talent at RB and WR with a solid enough offensive line. Coupled with a strong defense, McNabb could push them at least close to .500, if not better. Again, McNabb has said he does not want to go to Oakland. I know. I'm just saying I think they'd be pretty good if they acquired him.
  5. There's a player on the board who is an absolute steal here. The Jags need help on the offensive line and John Jerry is a borderline 1st round pick still available in the third round. Thus, the Jaguars select John Jerry, OG, Mississippi. bukie and Raisin are finally on the clock for the Bears' pick. I PMd them.

  7. Myself and Raisin are now on the clock for the Jags' pick.
  8. And soccer10k's. I've been corrected from all sides. :D
  9. Depends on whether you weigh Xs and Os more than getting the talent to the school. Nobody does less with more than Coach K Coach K: 3 titles, 11 Final Fours Izzo: 1 title, 6 Final Fours Has Coach K had that significantly more talent than Izzo? And what, 15 more seasons? Most of those in the era before every John Henry College was making runs at the sweet sixteen. Yeah, soccer pointed that out too. I didn't realize he had 15 years on Izzo.

Nobody does less with more than Coach K Coach K: 3 titles, 11 Final Fours Izzo: 1 title, 6 Final Fours Has Coach K had that significantly more talent than Izzo? He's been coaching at Duke for 30 years. Izzo's only been at MSU for 13 years. Man, it didn't occur to me he'd been there that long. I can definitely see the argument for Izzo and I'm not convinced Coach K is better – I was going mainly off overall better success for Coach K, but didn't realize he'd been at Duke for 30 years.

  12. Ok, supporting gooney's idea of re-starting the mock draft, we need to make a pick for the Bills. They took Dez Bryant and Colt McCoy in the first two rounds. Thoughts?
  13. If I'm reading this correctly, the author is attempting to temper his Izzo celebratory article by saying that Michigan State only advanced to the finals of the tournament in two of the five times they reached the final four. This makes no sense to me. How is this a critical statement? That means they made the final four five times, which is an accomplishment in and of itself. I don't get it either. I'm not sure I buy that Izzo is the greatest coach in the game, but I don't see any valid way to undermine his accomplishments. Where is MSU's program without him? Very likely, nowhere. How is Krzyzewski not?
  14. I don't know that a lot would change with a new one. Bradford would probably go with the first pick and that would change a couple of other first round picks, but I haven't seen a lot of players' stock change from 4 weeks ago to now – not drastically, at least. Maybe we should start later next year, though. The Bengals would probably be less likely to take Tate since they signed a WR in free agency. That's possible, though they do need a young WR as well. I might be more inclined to focus on DE for the Titans as opposed to taking Kyle Wilson, though I leaned heavily DE the whole time anyway.

Maybe we should start later next year, though. Didn't we do it twice last year? I think it's more entertaining, and you'll see a better pace, if we restart it soon, instead of going really deep into the draft. I was kidding a bit with the Bears pick coming up soon, but in reality, I don't see the point in doing one pick a day for the next month. It's not like doing multiple mock drafts is something strange. Finish the third round and start over maybe? I noticed a definite dropoff later in the fourth round last year and that's when we started over. If the popular opinion is to start over, I'd say do it after this round (to let the Bears actually have a pick :D ) and then re-start.

  17. I agree with all of this. Well said.

  19. Great athletes and guys with great tools on the board: LB Jamar Chaney QB John Skelton QB Jarrett Brown QB Jevan Snead DE Greg Hardy RB Joicque Bell WR Mike Williams WR Dezmon Briscoe OG John Jerry OLB Jason Worilds DT Arthur Jones SS Larry Asante The best values here are probably Jerry, Jones, Worilds, Skelton and Brown. The best pure athletes are probably Williams (elite WR talent), Hardy (fantastic athlete) and Jerry (massive interior lineman). Purely need based, I'd look at linebackers, safeties and defensive tackles. Well it is the Raiders, so let's look at best athletes. Note my first line where I list great athletes and guys with great tools. :-)

  22. Hopson being accurate with his shots would really help things out as well. But yeah, Chism pretty much has to play well for us to win. I'm close to feeling about Hopson how I felt about Kelley Washington. He's infuriating. And to think that he came into college with One-and-done hype. If he had 1/3 of the heart of Chism or Prince, he'd be a lottery pick. If he doesn't show up Sunday, it's going to be much tougher to get past Sparty. Yeah, Hopson's got a ton of talent, but doesn't seem eager to shoot if he struggles early. I'm hoping he has a big game in the tournament to boost his confidence a bit. I still think a slow day by Hopson can be overcome. We've got the outside shooting potential with Tatum, Maze and Goins to make up for a slow day by Hopson. We really need good days from Chism and Brian Williams, though, I think.

  24. Tom Izzo. There's a reason. Izzo's a great coach, but his team isn't unbeatable. I'm not even saying it's likely we win, I'm just saying after beating UK, Kansas and Ohio State so far this year, we're more than capable of beating a Michigan State team that isn't as good as any of those three teams.
  25. Tennessee vs Michigan State in the Elite 8. It'll be a tough game, but I see no reason why UT can't win the game.
