    Well, if you want to be on the winning side... :D) As you have probably gathered, Nashville doesn't play a very exciting style of hockey. Mildly successful, but not fan-friendly at all. Yeah, I've noticed the less-than-flattering comments on Nashville's style of play. :D It looks like this could be a good contrast of style type series for me to compare the two styles of play. Help me learn the game, perhaps.

    I'm with you about trying to use this to get into hockey a bit. I've always had friends that liked hockey, and I've always enjoyed the local minor league teams...but I've just never really been into it... But seeing the Blackhawks in the playoffs has piqued the interest. I can't decide who to root for in that series is the problem. I have more interest in the Predators since I'm much more familiar with the franchise itself, but I probably know more about the Blackhawk team from reading threads here. I guess the Preds being in the playoffs piqued my interest and then them playing the Blackhawks piqued it that much more.

    I watched a little bit of the Blackhawks in last year's playoffs and then was more into the 3rd period of last night's game between the Hawks/Predators. I don't really completely get what's going on, but it was interesting, at least.

    I watched part of game 2 on Fox Sports Tennessee. Not sure why ESPN doesn't list that. The Predators' website says it's on FSN-TN. Yeah, it's shown both games so far and will show tommorrow night's as well. On a side note, I'm trying to use this series to get into hockey more. I've never been a fan, but I kinda want to be and these are the two teams in the NHL that I'm mildly interested in (Blackhawks because of this board, Predators because I've always lived around them).

    Teams would be willing to give more for Bell because of the closer tag, but the Padres would be much less willing to deal Adams. He's not going to get huge raises in arbitration because he doesn't have saves so he's not likely to become too pricey for the Padres, especially if he stays as effective as he's been. I just don't see the incentive for the Padres to deal Adams unless they get a great deal, they do have incentive to trade Bell. While unlike Bell, Adams isnt a guy that the Pads would actively shop, however, if approached about him with a decent deal, Im sure theyd be willing to part with him. If we overpaid, sure. I just don't think see what incentive they have of trading him for anything less than a good to very good deal. He has more value to them than that. If Hendry's going to trade for a reliever, I'd prefer he look at guys with larger contracts who could be had for fewer/lesser prospects - like Juan Cruz or Heath Bell.

    The Chargers went DT and then RB in the previous mock draft and in the first round of this one they went RB. So, to keep with that trend, the Chargers select Cam Thomas, DT, North Carolina. The Bills look to bolster their QB competition by selecting Colt McCoy, QB, Texas. SpongeWorthy and the Buccaneers are on the clock. I PMd him.

    Not to mention he isn't a closer and his perceived value will be lower because he doesn't have a high number of career saves. He's very cheap and productive, though, and that combination is very important to a team like the Padres. I actually think we could get Bell for a better deal than Adams, especially if we took all of Bell's contract. That said, I would have no problem trading for Heath Bell as long as we don't overpay. As has been said, Hendry has almost always been very good at making trades work for us. Is Nolasco the best player we've traded away?

    Whoever traded for Ginn was going to get a real nice deal. Good job by the 49ers jumping on it.

    This year, definitely. McDaniels did a lot with Cassell in New England (it seemed, the talent there likely played a part too), so he may be able to fix Quinn. And yeah, Quinn's gotta be frustrated that the Broncos have traded Marshall and are trying to trade Scheffler as soon as he gets into town.

    The Browns have their choice here of a very high ceiling offensive lineman or a more polished, nearly as high a ceiling 3-4 OLB. With more of a need on the defensive side, the Browns select Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU. soccer10k and the Raiders are on the clock. I PMd him.
