  1. Pierre takes a called strike 3 with a runner on 3B w/less than 2 outs. It was a ball, but not far enough to where you wouldn't swing w/two strikes.
  2. It was 92-94 and heavy. Poor mechanics combined with no control, to go along with it. You're not missing much when Bynum is the most productive player in the game.
  3. Baker is saving Mabry when it's 9-0? Yep, you want a new GM and your wish won't granted for some time. Dusty might be a different story.
  4. Perez is hitting.
  5. *raises hand* His FB has been up, it ain't good enough to be up. Unless it's way up. I'm just generally in too lousy a mood to deal with the idiots tonight. I'm about to go on a banning rampage on some pompous clowns. srbin and oldcubsfan would be first on the list. His FB doesn't look the same as it did when I seen him at Lansing. I talked to a scout today who said similar things about J. Williams in '03 compared to now as far as missing the pop on the FB.
  6. Juan rolled his ankle.
  7. You're not blaming Ramirez enough! Seriously, it was a poor bench for an offense hoping to be avg. and it's biting them back.
  8. *raises hand* His FB has been up, it ain't good enough to be up.
  9. Btw, part of me enjoys watching Cruz do well against the Cubs.
  10. They're using the revolving door in the rotation, I hope they stick with Hill, but (if he cont's to struggle) would they go back to Rusch or would we see Ryu? Hill will need to learn to locate better or pitch backwards to do well in the majors.
  11. Luckily, I missed that quote by Baker. Although, the S&M part of me wouldn't mind reading it.
  12. He's been painful to watch so far, of course, I turn on the game and Pierre does everything you don't want to see from your leadoff hitter in the 1st AB of the game.
  13. huh? Murton took a poor angle on a ball that took an odd bounce in the corner as well as a bad angle on a liner over his head. Carlos made a gesture with his glove towards Murton. He shopuld've been focusing on how not to keep his FB up and how not to fall apart again rather than singling out Murton. Plus, I could be getting old and bitter!
  14. I think the rest of the year would be fair, as well. I forgot to mention the bitch move by Carlos yesterday to Murton.
  15. Although IMB overexaggerated, he's correct that some will factor race into the length of punishment. Of course, he paraphrased those on the board when doing so, which got him in trouble (which might be true for some, whether or not they deny it). Those who are aren't racist but looking for over the top punishment (which depends on the person) is likely doing it b/c of the mystique of the game.
  16. Exactly, him and Burnitz can be great on the team plane after struggling to score runs. Brenly and Kasper couldn't stop talking about how Rusch and Burnitz were really good friends last year. I can't remember if their paths crossed in Milwaukee.
  17. Btw, Shelton was a Rule 5 out of the Pirates system. Chalk it up to a learning experience. Casey is a great teammate.
  18. UK got so scared he turned chicken and abandoned the team! When the going gets tough, I'll bolt.
  19. Well, I feel my job as interim GM is done. The Danger Bees have a rebuilt farm system and are right there for 2nd best in points overall as well as likely going 2-0.
  20. 6'4" 225LBs... Put me where I belong, put my 75 MPH FB in the rotation.
  21. Any update on how his change-up is progressing?
  22. Thanks CR, I'm going to try and go Monday and probably make 2 of the 4 games.
  23. I'll find out where my tickets are tonight, hotel and airfare are my responsibility. I'll spend about 150 each for Sat. and Sun.
  24. Luckily, I was able to make reservations downtown. Millennium was sold out though.
  25. Damn Cubs fans make it impossible to get a hotel within walking distance. As passionate as our fanbase is, it makes last minute travel arrangements a ...... Luckily, I got one of the few remaining downtown hotel rooms. Millennium, Adam's Mark, Hyatt Regency, as well as other were all sold out. Oh well, I'm looking forward to going to the Great American Ballpark of the West. :)
