  1. I'm not a Parsons fan on at 10 mil per if that's what he gets. If I'm the Bulls, I look at Gortat and Nick Young as the FAs. I can't see Anthony coming. Hopefully Mirotic can be signed around 5 mil. Amnesty Boozer, trade Gibson for a 1 send that pick with Dunleavy and Randolph to clear the cap space. G ortat gives them more size and Noah some rest. As much as I dislike Young at times, he is a scorer and likely cheaper because of his poor shot selection.
  2. I might be in the minority here but... I'm still in the boat of trading Shark by getting two top prospects and another player (similar to what MLBTR mentioned). play out next year and see what happens with FA the following season with Samardzija. Unlike most of the PTR regime... outbid all other teams to get him? I would do likewise with Hammel (although not overpay).
  3. Higher wOBA as a Cub.... Mark Bellhorn or Ernie Banks? Advantage- The Wagon. http://www.flee.com/ltd/gueststars/78_horny_ltd_wagon.jpg
  4. Instead of disliking Dempster for his awful impersonations and declining a trade for Delgado, I only have to dislike him for the former. I would rather have Vizcaino over Delgado, so thank you...
  5. Avg year they see 40 to 50 guys with about half of them multiple times. The regional crosschecker sees about 10 and the national crosschecker about 5. The scouts that cover the minors are pro scouts. Some do both when time, the Cubs under Hendry would have area guys cover an organization top to bottom from the majors to rookie ball. The majors have advanced scouts and standard scouting scouts.
  6. Before the season, I would've never believed that in mid-June their worst starter would basically have the same FIP as James Shields and Liriano.
  7. I knew they were in on him and was hoping they'd meet their demands.
  8. Pretty informative piece. Soler's a few weeks away. Schwarber will be catching some and playing OF....... Did I hear that right? 15 area scouts and 8 cross checkers? Seems awfully low on the number of area scouts, doesn't it? Its similar with the area guys but above avg. with the national guys. 8 is pretty high. Just curious, but I'd assume Florida and California have multiple scouts covering those states? And they're considered the best jobs in the scouting community? More talent, less travel basically. With some of the Midwest and Northeast jobs being the worst. Less talent, much more talent..... Correct or way off? Correct. I forget which organization it is but they have just one scout assigned to San Diego. St. Louis doesn't use regions with colleges, they use conferences. Just hope if you have the Big Ten you don't have to go from Nebraska to New Jersey with a deadline.

  10. Zagunis: My least fav. pick of the draft:
  11. Norwood: James Norwood, rhp, St. Louis University R-R, 6-2/200, New York, N.Y. Previously Drafted: Never Coming out of high school Norwood showed a strong arm, but it was while at St. Louis that he truly developed into a pro prospect. With a strong 6-foot-2 frame and a fast arm, the New York native is capable of running his fastball up to 96-97 mph. As good as the velocity is, the arm side life he generates is even better. What will help dictate exactly where he will fall will be the development of his curveball and changeup as they are a bit inconsistent throughout an outing. However, when he stays on top of his curveball it's an above average offering working in the upper-70s with late break and nice depth.
  12. He has been my fav. prep player over the last 10 years, I love watching him play.
  13. My fav. day of the year. Didn't do as much as I'd like with the weather. Cant wait to see where Skoug goes, hopefully with the Cubs in the 3rd, tomorrow.
  14. Is PG going to release another set of reports? Could you give me Gordon and Jackson, please? I wish they would update their draft focus, I've been disappointed with their product since they combined pgcrosschecker and pg. Jackson:
  15. There's more polish to Kolek than someone like Colt Griffin, there's also less wear and tear and better mechanics than Wood. Barring some odd choice, I can't see myself being upset. This draft on a national level is opposite of here in IL compared to next year. 15 is looking bad locally but better nationally and tank for Cameron.
  16. The typical drop in velo and some of Rodons mechanics scare me. I don't know what to think about Gordon. Avg offense and he's still an likely AS and always fall back to the mound if he falls to hit. Gordon doesn't quite have the same kind of wheels as Dee, right? He's only slightly above average.
