  1. Crede still has lost a step defensively with those back problems.
  2. I love that kid, I was disappointed the Cubs did not get him.
  3. What was it? I missed it. In the dugout, he mentioned he/they always go on the 1st pitch, it's my "soapdropping" fault on that one.
  4. Lou is awesome. I love seeing him take blame for that.
  5. Both, Vasquez is slow to the plate with a poor move and AJ has an avg. arm and release.
  6. 2 runs and 30 pitches seen, good inning.
  7. Cabrera is just a bad ballplayer that I'm sure the Sox regret trading for.
  8. Agreed, but those adjustments and pitch recognition still have to lead to him centering the ball better. His recent stretch at Iowa hopefully is a sign of things to come, espec. if the make shift LF'ers struggle (although, Soriano might be ready soon rather than later).
  9. There's a poss. that he'll be in the majors by Sept., but TB is pretty conservative as far as promoting players (espec. pitchers) although they haven't really had an elite arm come from college.
  10. That man has an unbelievable tolerance of pain & I respect his ability to play and to produce thru pain, he is one tough SOB.
  11. Do you really want Pie to work the count at this stage and end up in alot of two strike counts? I want him to get a good pitch to hit and try to hit it hard. He's never going to be a high BB guy, I'm more concerned with him putting the ball into play hard rather than BBs. Which saying becoming less of a free swinger and me saying getting a good pitch to hit is different in semantics only. Although, I disagree with him needing to work the count at this stage.
  12. The avg. fan is likely smarter (excluding baseball) than the avg. ballplayer.
  13. That's not the same Jerry Manuel I remember, I don't think he ever showed a hint of anger while managing with the Sox.
  14. And??? Relievers who started in the past (most relievers were starters in the minors) are just as exposed to injuries from overuse as if they had not started. With that said, I don't think he is injured but I have questioned his usage patterns early on.
  15. I think that was just the WGN gun. The PitchFX data on Gameday had his fastball consistently at 92-94 that inning. That's what CSN had as well.
  16. Hitters go thru slumps as do pitchers. Prob. something with his release point at this stage.
  17. It was this year & I think they were working on the fact that Hill had too much shoulder tilt, even compared to last year. No, you want to see him consistent as possible with his delivery.
  18. That home plate ump has completely frustrated the Sox and taken some of their attention away from the game, both from the mound and the plate.
  19. That tilt makes it difficult for the hitter to pick up the ball, but it has its consequences.
  20. That was a good call by blue. Marquis shifted his weight towards 2B once the ball got past Russell, once you do that, you have to get back to 1B.
  21. Lou is just playing L/R matchups, I doubt it'll come back to bite them as far as a PH'er late in the game. Personally, I wouldve kept Fontenot in there, though. Horny! reference.
  22. I should apologize to Edmonds for questioning his bat speed.
