  1. Bitch all you want about UF, UK is going to another bowl game. Music City, Independence, or Liberty here we come!
  2. What do you suppose they do? They're not going into next year with Hill being counted on, they won't get much in return for him, he makes a small salary, and for whatever chance (albeit small) that he does get close to where he was, he has a higher ceiling. They are handling it correctly as far as how they are handling Hill now, but they have ask themselves whether or not they could've done something differently in the off-season from '07 to '08. I have no idea what your post is trying to prove beyond the obvious.
  3. How so? They'd be more willing to overspend & quicker had the consequences not potentially be a 1st round pick.
  4. And then have him accept and be stuck on the team for one more year? It isn't worth it, I don't see any teams getting to the point where they'll give that up to sign him when there are similar relievers out there.
  5. There's no chance the Cubs offer him arbitration nor will a team sign him before the Cubs are required to offer him arbitration.

  7. Kemp would be proud. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5i0MpIAtHHTsVhlMdWJZdsS87Nk2AD943PAM80 His kids avg. is higher than his career scoring avg. (scoring in basketball terms only)
  8. Agreed, defensively he goes from a plus defender with an above avg. arm with above avg. range to likely avg. range with a plus arm. While last year he would've been below avg. for a CF'er offensively, hopefully improvement can bring him into being above avg. offensively while not being a defensive liability. They do need a LH'ed RF immediately or a LH'ed version of Sandberg at 2B*. *Bellhorn of '02. :)
  9. 1)Badgers 2)Hawkeyes 3)Illini (Never been to Ann Arbor or Happy Valley) Not a fan of MSU, UM, Purdue, or NU. IU and OSU are ok. I'm biased towards SEC schools in this regard although Madison and Iowa City are right there.
  10. I would approve of Theriot if he were a good defender and an astute baserunner. However, neither is the case. I'll avoid the usual debate that involves Theriot, but if Cedeno can outplay him, then go for it.
  11. I can't see Edmonds maintaining his 50%+ XBH in the second half again. With that said, there's a spot for him on this team although he's not more than a 400AB guy at this stage. Him and Johnson would be adequate as a platoon in CF. It looked like teams pitched Theriot differently in the second half as far as busting him on the inner half and he didn't do as well, his low salary and the rest of the lineup allow him to be a viable option although I doubt we'll see similar numbers as we did in '08. They need a RF'er with pop from the LH side, not many exist at this stage and they have either have an extremely expensive and heavy dead weight with Fukudome or they have a rebounding player, I didn't see any adjustments to FB on the outer 3rd or sliders low and away against LH'ers although he's more willing to stay back & slap the ball into LF vs. lefties.
  12. I can't wait for baseball to end either way at this point, I need 4 months of decompression.
  13. The first two months Lilly was awful, I have no idea why his velo was down but as he pitched into the year, it seemed to get back into the 88-92 range and he improved as the season went on. Him and Dempster carried that team late to clinch the division. It seemed as his FB went up in velo he ised his change-up less espec. vs. RH'ers which was odd.
  14. This is a must win for UK, they should beat MSU to get to 6 wins and bowl eligible. They win this one and they have a chance with UT and Vandy left to poss. get to 8 wins with both Tenn. schools struggling as of late. I would've never thought they would have a chance at 8 wins this far into the season.
  15. That'll change with Blago. Just hand it over to Lisa Madigan and be done with it.
  16. It's funny that two organizations have now mishandled Prior. Makes you wonder if he's part of the problem. I don't think SD mishandled him. I don't see how Prior could be the problem as far as them not being able to find all the damage in his shoulder. He just has made some bad adjustments mechanically and was worked too hard by Baker in '03.
  17. He's a great SD but unless the area guys and crosscheckers come with and they find someone competent, the damage won't be as great.
  18. I hate seeing Kazmir and the command of his FB cont. to be way off, Maddon should've gone with LH'ers tonight.
  19. He got a raw deal from the Cubs espec. from the medical staff, that bridhe has been burned with the Cubs, but I still think they are getting closer to repairing all the damage that was done and overlooked by the Cubs and initially by SD before this last operation. I'm rooting for him regardless of organization.
  20. Instead of recycling, they should've gone with Matt Walbeck.
  21. Those fans that have been with this team from the start deserve this as much as anyone.
  22. If Price gets these 3 outs, we'll likely be seeing the Rays closer for the WS. Wieters who?
