Did I or did not say comment on Rex's mechanics earlier? He's always been a bad mechanical QB, but on that play DeVries made two good plays one was beating Tait and the second was getting hands up. I don't blame Grossman for that, now that last incomplete pass on 2nd down was all on Grossman.

How is that making an excuse for Grossman? Did DeVries not push Tait 5 yards deep? Grossman has for too many passes tipped which is why I want him more in the shotugun.

How is that on Tait? He stopped the initla rush and the DE shifts into the passing lane. That's on Rex to realize where he is in the pokcet and not step right into his face. Tait got bullrushed back to the QB.

That was a hell of a passing lane to throw that ball.

they had a good push on that sweep, though. it should have gone for more than that. the lions just got lucky because one guy found himself in a place to shoot a gap and make the tackle. generally, the lions don't have players like that, but today they do. One guy got a good push b/c Forte rec'd the ball 4 yards deep and then ran yards to the end before cutting it upfield.

This is one of the least interesting games of the year. It is a good time to get Forte a big game again as they give up 4.7 ypg on the ground. The Bears should pressure Orlovsky and force him into throwing downfield where Orlovsky has little accuracy.

and a first round pick What percentage of first rounds picks are actually "productive" major league players? If it's not very high, then who cares about losing the first round pick, especially if the guy you are signing is already a "productive" major league player? High enough to where you often look for similar players without having to give up a 1st rd. pick. I would be extremely disappointed if the Cubs were unable to bring back Wood and give up a 1st rd. pick for someone who will likely be less productive than Wood.
