  1. Nice to see that Larry has finally found his map on how to get to the pitcher's mound.
  2. Looks like Jane Eyre served up a real meatball to Mike Jacobs. This game has been a pretty uggla experience.
  3. Walking Cabrera. :-( How many pitches before there's a man on 2nd?
  4. Didn't you smell a Mabry homer an inning or so back? :P
  5. Mark Grace never did that for you? Only if the go ahead run was on 2nd at the bottom of the 9th. Any other situation, Sammy would follow... and K with three quick whiffs of the bat... EXCEPT in '98. Although in reality that's not true. Sure seemed true. I remember seeing lots of Grace walks and hits go for naught.
  6. I'm 19, wasn't watching in Gracie's heyday. Too bad, it was good times Yeah, he was fun to watch. That rally in the '01 WS was so poignant - FINALLY someone to come through with a rally he started! Glad he got his ring, but anymore I cringe when he opens his mouth. Edit: Hairston, why do you suck???

  8. WOW. Just flipping WOW. Keep with the good playing, Murt - I'll be here to gnash my teeth for you about how Dustbag screwed you out of ROY. No worries. :-)
  9. Good discipline by TWalk there. Gameday had that one in a good place - I would have swung. Line out by Walker - GAH!
  10. Here's a stat for Fred: how well do the Cubs convert walks to runs compared to their opponents? Seems like the Cubs don't take advantage of BB to the extent that they should, comparatively speaking. I wonder how far off my perspective is from reality?
  11. True, but a ugly loss to remember over an off day is not they way I would have this team start the Brewers series. :-(
  12. Our pen sure gave those runs back and then some in a hurry.
  13. It won't be enough, with that play that Mabry lost in the sun. UGGGH!
  14. Williamson sucked last year (when available), and thus far I remain unimpressed.
  15. Loses Uggla after being ahead 0-2. How LaTroy Hawkins. :x
  16. At this point, I think I'd prefer to see Jerome Williams. TG, a K by Williamson.
  17. It's a guy thing, you wouldn't understand. I just got home... how'd Gooz look today? I saw his line, but how was his stuff? Riiiiight. He's about the only one that does it. It's very odd. A couple of socks might help. And Williamson balks. Keep jawing w/the ump, kid. You getting ejected wouldn't be a bad thing.
  18. I'm sorry, but I think Williamson blows.
  19. Perhaps he's trying to help the team by working for a deep bruise?
  20. I think he needs another year, though. I'd feel better biding time this year, and tell Pierre to hit the road when he thinks he's worth $9 mil per or more for a multi-year deal starting in '07. How to get rid of JJ, though, stumps me. What possessed Hendry to give him THREE years???? Even Baltimore won't take that deal off our hands.
  21. That would be the COOLEST. But I bet the IRS might put a dollar value on that! :D
  22. Hey, as long as he keeps BMs out of the conversation (lots of "old farts" tend to do that as BM occurences are rarer), it's all good.
  23. Good God, put part of a choir in there or something. Jocks don't deserve to sing the stretch if they can't carry a tune, even if they have won a h.s. championship.
