  1. They already have the white version of Jacque Jones and they plan on trading or benching him. But the black version is cheaper! Maybe they want some relievers?
  2. Maybe they'd take Jones?
  3. Apparently they might put him in LF. He doesn't have nearly as much value there. Would they do a Murton for Hall swap?
  4. Can you elaborate? I assume you mean Pujols' season was par for the course, but Howard's season was an anomaly? They both had great seasons. Pujols' was better, but it isn't like when they gave the Gold Glove to Palmeiro who played 8 games at 1B.
  5. http://wiki.coolmon.org/files/cookie.jpg Cookie stand's not part of the food court.
  6. Contracted. Where you been? Better than Kurt Douglas surfing through their streets, or am I getting confused? Nah, you're pretty much right on target. I was looking for a picture of Charley Steiner with a tie around his noggin', but I couldn't find it. "INSERT CHARLEY STEINER FOLLOW ME TO FREEDOM PICTURE HERE."
  7. Pujols deserved it more, but Howard's season was fantastic. Pujols will win a few more MVPs. Plus, he won the World Series. I'm sure he'll get over it. He might wish he tried Free Agency though.
  8. Since we all hate the Yankees: A good Yankees blog. A GOOOOD YAAAAAAAANKEES BLOG! http://www.nomaas.org
  9. No interest. I'd rather have Neagle, mainly for his oh-so entertaining off the field antics. "You did a coke line off of whose stomach?"
  10. McDonough still blows. Firestone Snow Tire day?

  12. Um, I don't mean to be a jerk, but you all have neglected to mentioned the coolest name ever, which of course belonged to the greatest CFer of all time, COOL PAPA BELL The fastest player to ever play. Apparently, he could hit the light switch and be in bed before it was dark. Satchel Paige once said, ""If Cool Papa had known about colleges or if colleges had known about Cool Papa, Jesse Owens would have looked like he was walking." Book it.
  13. God, I'm such an internet sleuth! I suppose it isn't a bad move for Brooklyn. They lost JD Drew, and didn't land either ARAM or Soriano (both on the Northside, woot). Hopefully he stays healthy.
  14. If he has a season like last year again, then I dont think there's a better FA option out there. Soriano's production last year is basically equivalent to Drew's career numbers. Right. Except that Soriano will more than likely play everyday. Drew's much more iffy. Drew's last three years say hello. (And don't count his broken hand against him.) How could I?
  15. kctigers pointed this out last time it was brought up, but of the 34 walk increase, 13 of those were intentional. He did see a lot more pitches per at bat though as well. Not really. He saw 3.90p/PA in 2006. In 2001 he saw 3.84 and in 2004-5 he saw 3.65. Barely a career best, and not a gigantic improvement over 2004-5. I saw the .3 and thought it was big.
  16. The Cubs have been a franchise crippling boat anchor themselves. At least it could be fun for a year.

  18. By VORP, he was the best offensive player on the Cubs last year. Add in a healthy Lee, another Aramis season, and an improved season from Murton and I think the offense will be significantly improved.

Except that Soriano will more than likely play everyday. Drew's much more iffy. I'd rather risk the health of someone who has only broken his hand the last 3 years than risk a 30 year old repeating a career year in a contract year. Much much rather. He would've been significantly cheaper and a better defender too. I don't know about significantly. He'd probably go for fewer years, but I read he was looking at a similar dollar amount
