  1. To be honest, I think I would have rather had Grieve in RF than Jones.
  2. Is Arroyo really that good though? I think he's completely replacable, and no better than Jerome Williams. His unimpressive major league numbers are more or less in-line with his equally blah minor league stats. I don't see him turning into much more than a mediocre innings eater. Baseballreference.com compares him closely to Harang and Harkey, not exactly solid company. Now, Griffey has his own issues, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he can't play CF anymore, and Boston needs a CF. Plus the offense Griffey provides would significantly help their chances in the East and make an offensive hole at SS easier to live with. Loretta Nixon Manny Ortiz Varitek Griffey Lowell Snow/Youkilis Alex Cora/Pedroia Whoah!
  3. You dumb bas###. It's not a schooner, it's a sailboat. A schooner is a sailboat, stupidhead. YOU KNOW WHAT?!
  4. Performing such favorites as "Do that to me one more time" and "The Impossible Dream?"
  5. That would be an excellent bench. Ton of power. A bunch of K's, but those guys could all get on base, and most importantly, wouldn't give the team a huge dropoff in case players gets injured. Just a question as I like Branyan a lot too, but how do those guys play as pinch hitters? The .370 OBP of Branyan is nice but I don't think that's his OBP coming off the bench. Do players like that generally do better or worse in bench rolls?
  6. Hildalgo > Murton in Baker's eyes... Well if Hidalgo played like he did in the past, 2003 or 2000, then heck, play him over Murton and platoon Jones and Murton in LF.
  7. Yeah 4 years is kinda scary. He's not that good now, offensively, I wouldn't want to see what a decline might look like.
  8. Ask this question next offseason, when he get's 8mil per.
  9. there was a time when a B+ wasn't an average grade http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/3227/orlyskywalker0pb.jpg
  10. I agree. The team did not get any worse, IMO from last year. I suppose if a team marginally that improves slightly deserves a D then I guess we do. But he sure doesn't use that grading system throughout.
  11. I always considered Cs to be below average, but I guess it's in the middle. My point is that he gave the Blue Jays a C. The Blue Jays signed the best FA closer and starter, traded for a big bat at 3B and another solid hitter at 1B. That's average? Seems like a pretty solid Offsesason to me. The Yankees, on the other hand, sign Damon to a Bernie Williams-esque contract, and then sign Farns and one armed Octavio and they get a B+.
  12. Dayn Perry tends to be a bit harsh. I think the majority of clubs got Cs or worse on those ratings, which doesn't really make sense.
  13. So because of the washed up, bullpen-battler signing the Cards are going to the series? Hmm. Well, makes sense to me! im pretty sure he was sarcastic. Yeah I read it too fast, so either it was all sarcasm or no sarcasm. I went with the former. GOD I'M AN IDIOT. GEEZ. Attack your post, not yourself. Yes, let's not call anyone an idiot even if it is yourself. Hahaha! Whoops! God that post was lamer than Roosevelt's legs.

  15. What should they do now? Add a real WR, since Moose doesn't wanna ever use the Stick-em? Get a lockdown corner? A real PR/KR? I hope the Bears can make the right off-season moves and have another 10+ win season next year. But with the management, I could easily see an 8-8 season, with GB somehow winning 12.

  17. Just a thought I had. Has their ever been a case (outside of Coors) where a large ballpark, like say Florida, has been a friendly hitter's park? The only reason I ask is because larger ballparks have more ground for their outfielder's to cover. If they have a weak defensive outfield, wouldn't that allow for more hits to be given up there? So while long shots might stay in the park, short flies or gap shots might drop? Just something I was curious about.
  18. So you have to be a ghetto franchise to win in this town. Nice.
  19. Go Carolina. I'd rather lose to the winners.
  20. WHY DO RECEIVERS RUN ROUTES A FOOT SHY OF THE 1ST DOWN LINE?
  21. I agree, but we were overrated. which is ironic. Seriously! Hopefully this was a coming out party. A full year of Rex and some improvements and they should be right back there next year. Or Green Bay will take back the division for a few years. Who knows with this organization.
  22. I agree, but we were overrated.
  23. Good little screen there. Keep it moving!
  24. Typically lovely Chicago way to lose: our one strength becomes our weakness. That GB game scared me for this reason.
  25. FANTASTIC!!!
