  1. Didn't watch the game last night, but it looks like Tyrus came up big. I hope the Bulls can realize that Taj Gibson is simply a very cheap imitation and should not be considered anything close to a replacement for him. If they trade Tyrus, it better be for a really good player or because they absolutely need to in order to score a free agent.
  2. I agree with Palmer over Favre. For Brett, not much to play for, and especially given the blow up last week, he is sitting down if Childress tells him to. I'd go with Jones-Drew and Grant. Re: Rice. It's annoying that the Ravens like to give the ball to Willis McGahee at the goal-line after Rice gets them there. Drives me nuts that the Saints decide to do the same thing with Pierre Thomas. Therefore, you pretty much rely on yards even if he's good at getting them. I think Snelling is a risk. He hasn't been the guy all year, and he's had some good games but its not like he's going to get 30 points and make you regret benching him. But he can easily get you only 5 and screw you. Grant is a much better call, IMO. Good matchup, and the Pack is motivated.
  3. I personally find it hard to evaluate receivers. Its easy when you have a guy like Fitzgerald who brings the ball down in traffic and breaks tackles, but usually that's not the case. What I do know is that so much depends on who's throwing them the ball, how well they are in tune with the QB, and how the play is designed. Everyone knows that an offensive scheme and a good QB can make a receiver. Peyton Manning always seem to have 3 great receivers, even when they recycle. It's not like the Colts have great scouting for receivers or amazing luck. Look at what Moss and Welker did before they went to the Pats. What bothers me most about the Bears receivers is not the inability to act like Larry Fitzgerald. They are never in position to make a play. They never catch the ball on the run and get yards after the catch, unless they outrun everyone and Cutler happens to hit them with a good pass. Otherwise, its pathetic short dumps and jump balls in traffic. A great way to utilize two of the fastest receivers in the game. It's pretty clear that the offensive line isn't giving Cutler a lot of time, but I put the bulk of the blame on the pathetic offensive design. You could put Moss, Wayne and Fitzgerald on the team, and I'm not sure how much better things would be. The Bears offensive scheme can probably make any receiver and QB look bad. Cutler has to make precise passes with no margin for error, and when its executed perfectly, you get a marginal gain. Hopefully, after the idiot currently running the offense is gone and the receivers mature a bit and improve communication, things are workable. I will hold my thoughts on the receivers until then.
  4. I agree. I'd like to see how that is possible. I'd also like to know how much Boozer and Johnson ask for. They will probably want near max deals themselves. With the salary maximum in the NBA, the elite players are always a better bargain than the second tier players. Who's more worth it, Kobe/Lebron at $22 million or Rashard Lewis/Elton Brand at $14-17 milion? Boozer and Johnson are very enticing if they are asking $10-$12 million/year. That's is highly unlikely.
  5. Congrats everyone who is in the championship game. Recently stocked with RB's, which has been my weakness this year. Got lucky with Jamal Charles this week. Here's my dilemma pick 2: Cedric Benson vs. KC Jamal Charles at Cinci Jerome Harrison vs Oakland (Hopefully, I can pick him up tomorrow as there are only 2 teams that care anymore!) Pierre Thomas vs TB I'm leaning towards Benson and Harrison. Benson is facing the team that Harrison set a record against. Harrison is playing Oakland and will be getting the ball, esp with Brady Quinn going down.
  6. I'm in essentially the same position except substitute Vince Young for Eli. I plan to follow the reports during the week and if it sounds like Peyton is likely to play most of the game I'll use him, but if he's likely to play half or less of the game I won't hesitate to use Young instead. Tough call. Eli has everything to play for and has had some good performances, but I say Peyton. You have to go with your horse that has done it all year. If you lose because Peyton is pulled early or has a bad game, then you can live with it. If you lose because Eli sucked and Peyton's 4 TD's are on your bench, you will be pissed for a while.
  7. I would take Minnesota D over the Cincy D at the moment. The Ravens D got me into this week because they played the Bears. The Bears Offense is playing as bad as any at the moment, and they give up picks and sacks.
  8. I miss Tyrus Thomas. Taj Gibson is a cheap imitation. I hope that they don't trade him for nothing. They are a better team with him out there.
  9. Regardless of whether he was a clubhouse cancer or not. How dumb was it to air out the dirty laundry in public, suspend him, and tell everyone what a cancer he was. The season was over. The Cubs were done. They should have made nice and traded him to another unsuspecting team. Now, we are going to get fleeced and pay another team so he can play for them. And he'll probably have a career year. Thanks Hendry. Thanks Cubs.
  10. I'm going to wait before I drawing conclusions about the Ricketts family. They are obviously rich, but you can't sustain a high payroll out of your pocket. It has to come from revenue. There is no owner in pro sports who pays out of their pocket to win, and there never will be. To me, maximizing revenue is smart. No stingy. They just paid a lot of money for the team, it probably isn't the right time to start throwing money around just yet. Ricketts has said that revenue will be invested back into the team. I'll give them a chance to show this before I criticize. To compare them with the Trib is unfair. The Tribune, to me, was as bad as owners can possibly be. A for profit company who only cared about the bottom line. And for years, the Cubs were money in their bank. They rigged TV and radio deals and claimed they had no cash to spend. The payroll has risen substantially in the past few years prior to the sale. That should say something. Where was this payroll 10 years ago? In 1997, the Cubs were outspent by the Twins, Padres and Royals. Number TWENTY THREE out of 28 teams. They didn't crack the top 10 in payroll until 2003. To compare them to the Tribune because they haven't upped the payroll from 2009 is unfair. In 2009, they were #3 in baseball in terms of payroll. The only reason the Tribune ever let the payroll get there was because they were selling the team. But obviously, the money has been there for a while. The Tribune was a f@#$ing joke. You can't expect the Ricketts to start throwing money around to increase baseball's #3 payroll right after they financed hundreds of millions in a recession to buy the team. At least I get the impression that the Ricketts family wants to win. Let them raise revenue. Let them raise ticket prices. The fans will still be in the seats. And hopefully, the money goes back into the team.
  11. I'd have no problem with giving Charlie Weis a shot. He's succeeded in the Pros. He would be highly motivated. Can't necessarily blame him for not winning in college, which is a different game.
  12. Brain Fart by Flacco.
  13. Goodness. Someone tell the Packers secondary that if they don't mug the player, maybe they don't get called. What's with the insistence of Baltimore to use continually use Willis McGahee at the goal line? Why not give Ray Rice a chance? Especially when the play is a run to the outside.
  14. That was 100% clear pass interference. Isn't there a Jumbotron at Lambeau? I thought Packer fans are educated and know what a pass interference call looks like. They got away with another one last possession.
  15. Sounds like a pathetic and ugly win. Good because it probably drops Denver a few picks and decreases the potential of them humiliating us with a stud 1st rounder. And also good because the horrific coaching staff didn't score too many points with this one. A win win.
  16. F@#$. TD NO.
  17. Even niners fans here probably want to see the end of the NO game. This is a fricking joke.
  18. The Fing game hasnt even started.
  19. Great. Now I get to watch the Niners is a meaningless game. FU FOX.
  20. That's a pure choke. Choking in its purest form.
  21. MISSED FG! OUCH! OMG! 7 pt game.
  22. an INT, i hope. He's on my Fantasy team. Otherwise, I'd be right there with you.
  23. Saints will need to score twice with 2 min after this chip shot FG.
  24. OK Brady. Let's see what you've got.
