  1. Rex Ryan has never bothered me one bit. I happen to find him entertaining. Actually, I think sports needs more guys like Rex Ryan rather than boring stiffs like Belichick who speak in cliches all day long. Who cares if he talks smack. He never seems malicious, and as far as I've seen, he loses with class. Unlike a lot of guys who won't shake someone's hand after they lose. I don't understand anyone getting hot and bothered over Rex Ryan unless he beats their team. And I don't get the media jumping all over him for opening his mouth. I say get over it and enjoy it. He's giving you some good material. If they hate him so much, go and cover Belichick and stop writing about Rex.
  2. Well, as a Bear fan, I definitely prefer Atlanta win because the Packers are a better team. But at least with the Packers, the teams know each other so well that there's less chance of Lovie Smith getting outcoached, as can happen so often. Hopefully it doesn't happen against Seattle tomorrow.
  3. According to the book Freakonomics, names start off as upper class and eventually evolve into lower class names. After evolving into lower class names, they eventually die off. Freakonomics also states that alternate spellings, ie Brandi, are popular with the lower class.
  4. According to the book Freakonomics. Top 20 "low income white" names. 1. angel 2. heaven 3. misty 4. destiny 5. brenda 6. tabatha 7. bobbie 8. brandy 9. destinee 10. cindy 11. jazmine 12. shyanne 13. britany 14. mercedes 15. tiffanie 16. ashly 17. tonya 18. crystal 19. brandie 20. brandi Variations of Brandy make up 3 of the top 20. My apologies if I've offended anyone who knows people of these names.
  5. I'm usually the guy who's OK with trading prospects. But this trade worries me. We could've sat back this year and built up our farm system and waited for it to mature. We could've also spent some money to acquire players to build the team. We did neither. We gutted our farm system and have made every effort to spend as little as possible. I'm concerned as to what it could mean in the future with the Ricketts.
  6. Oh man. The Packers are getting so lucky. Garza killed us with that holding penalty. I can't believe we are giving away the game like that.
  7. Come on Aaron Rodgers! Strap on that helmet and play. I need you.
  8. Nicks is a lock. Even more than DJax. I'd probably also go with Bess. As for RB, Torain. And probably Thomas.
  9. I managed to pull out round 1 despite Aaron Rodgers getting 2 points! Got lucky, made the right moves, and got the W. Congrats to those who made it to week 15. Pick 3: LeSean McCoy @ NYG Steven Jackson vs KC Ahmad Bradshaw vs Phi BenJarvus Green-Ellis vs GB Aaron Rodgers might be out. So pick 1 waiver wire QB: David Garrard @ Ind McNabb @ Dal Kerry Collins vs Hou Matt Hasselbeck vs Atl Jason Campbell vs Den I really hope Rodgers plays.
  10. My Fantasy Team is screwed with Rodgers out. But my Bears can benefit bigtime if the Lions win. But of course the Pack are going to beat Drew freaking Stanton and my fantasy team is done. :( :(
  11. I hear you about Shiancoe. Had him for a while. Favre is just gunslinging it all year and not trying to his the checkdown to Shiancoe. Celek might be the safest pick. Probably not getting shut out. I think Hernandez has the most upside. Your post inspired me to grab Ben Watson on the waiver wire. I think I might start him this week.
  12. Congrats to everyone who made the playoffs. 0.5PPR WR pick 1: Jacoby Ford @Jac Hakeem Nicks @Min Danny Amendola @NO Nicks is coming off an injury, or it would be a no-brainer. And my league counts return yards, should give Ford and Amendola a few points at least. I'm actually leaning towards Ford, but it might change by Sunday if I hear favorable reports on Nicks. pick 3: LeSean McCoy @Dal Steven Jackson @NO Ahmad Bradshaw @Min BenJarvus Green-Ellis@Chi I'm leaning towards sitting Law Firm. And 1 more: TE: Ben Watson @Buf Greg Olsen vs Pats
  13. It's pretty much the storyline that most are going with. The Tribune called the penalty the turning point of the game. Humor sites like deadspin and KSK are casually referring to the refs screwing over the Lions again. I think the penalty was pretty much a must call as it happened in real time. If you have the benefit of replay you can decide not to. But you can't do what he did and expect not to get called. I think people (sportswriters) are just in disbelief in general over the Bears. Everyone wants to make Cutler to be the cry-baby (the whole McDaniels/Jeff George bit), the Bears use retreads for coaches, and the like. I laugh at the whole "McDaniels is the next Belichek" spiel I read lately. Yea, Denver just wasn't ready for change. ok. The fact of the matter is Belichek failed mightily in Cleveland and persevered though it, as the franchise was going through extremely turbulent waters. Meanwhile, McDaniels has pissing all over his players and eventually sent the ones he truly needed packing. Matt Cassell has done fine, but for cripes sake TIM TEBOW? I guess McDaniels could rebound, but I dont know. McDaniels will do just fine. He actually did a decent job with the offense, which is what he does. He royally screwed up with personnel, defense, and pissing some people off. If he learns from his mistakes and controls the arrogance, he'll do OK. He's still very young.
  14. The guy has already far exceeded my expectations. In addition to improving his defense, I think he can improve his ability to take care of the ball. He makes some careless turnovers at times. If he gets those right, I don't think there's any PG better in the league. And not many players at any position for that matter.
  15. Does anyone care anymore about Brett Favre? I find it amazing that he still gets front page news on every sports outlet. I was watching Sportcenter today and they cut to his press conference for like 10 minutes where he was answering idiotic questions about how it hurts when he does this or that. It's absolutely insane. I mean, the media must be pandering to people who actually care about this, right? The media isn't so stupid as to keep pushing stories that nobody cares about, right? So who actually still gives 2 s@#$s about Brett Favre? I don't understand it.
  16. None of the NFC leaders wants to lose. Even though the Bears currently own the 2 seed, its going to be a struggle to make the playoffs.
  17. Can they ever make 2 free throws?
  18. That's what superstars do. Now if he could only get a call now and then.
  19. Nice DRose! Wow.
  20. haha. What a punk LeBron is. I mean, how can you coach a guy who probably hasn't taken crap from any coach he has ever had since he was 13. I'm glad the Bulls don't have to deal with a guy like that. Talented, yes. But is he even worth it? Funny article by Kelly Dwyer on Yahoo. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Relationship-between-LeBron-and-coach-gets-chill;_ylt=AgIimWcsf8Q4sSzuJz9TwSW8vLYF?urn=nba-290079
  21. lol, they lost by 5 because the Bears played a near prevent defense the entire 4th quarter in an attempt to run out the clock. This is what you are able to do when you have an 18 point lead entering the quarter. As it was, the defense stepped up and stopped the Eagles when it mattered, having them settle for FGs in the red zone 3 times I believe. But yeah, keep believing you didn't just get dominated by the Bears. don't forget the 4 fumbles that they themselves fell upon. Geez. If they called that obvious pass interference on Forte or if that 4th down pass didn't somehow make it through 3 defenders, then who knows what the score would've been. I've been a Bears skeptic most of the year. This game was legit. They were better. Period. That dude just looks like a tool.
  22. Do that deal. You have good recievers with White, Johnson, Holmes and Welker. Colston is 3rd of 4th anyways. As long as Gates can walk, he's the best TE in fantasy football. Your RBs are weak, but Turner is not going to carry a team. The other upgrades are worth it.
  23. *facepalm* Can we not get into another 5 page argument about the statisticians? You know how I feel. Hollinger is a crackhead. :-"
  24. Get a SG. Win rings.
