  1. Yeah, seriously. I'd be scared as hell to have Tice as OC.
  2. link? was it on tv or radio somewhere? oh and BUT ESPN WANTS EVERYONE TO GO TO THE YANKEES OR RED SOX No link. It was on live radio. They were just speculating. Cowherd said he thought the cubs were most likely. Stark agreed but said there would be a lot of teams interested. They didn't have any more info than is out there already.

  4. Jayson Stark and Colin Cowherd were both speculating that the Cubs are the most likely destination. I still don't believe it's even a possibility.
  5. OK. Geez. So maybe Ricketts haven't proven they are cheapskates. I've actually been a Ricketts supporter. But they have actually cut payroll and have had pretty strict constraints on it. And to say a new owner is going to throw a record contract at anyone and outbid everyone is the league for him- to me, an owner has to prove he's willing to do that. Not the other way around. Who wouldn't want Pujols? He's the best hitter in the league. But too bad we're not the only ones who think so.
  6. There is no way Pujols will be a Cub. 1. The Cubs will not be the highest bidder. What has Ricketts done to make anyone think that we would possibly pay the man what he wants. 2. It would be the biggest FU to the Cards for him to come to the Cubs. I don't think he'd do it unless he had no options elsewhere.
  7. Like when a guy sleeps with a married woman exactly. glad someone gets it. maybe she put a spell on him like in that awful movie with vicki valencourt Not making any judgements as to whether this is right or wrong. But that girl must be smoking hot. I mean, Mark Sanchez can do pretty well for himself with girls who are out of high school.
  8. Couldn't agree more on the Knox stuff. Knox has made had some flashes, but he's disappointed me a whole lot. Is that what it is? So that's why Knox is always falling back toward the endzone while a defender is making an easy pick. Makes sense. It would also seem that this bad habit should be easily coachable. I don't understand why he keeps doing it.
  9. Come on. We all know that honor goes to Dusty Baker.
  10. I like the size, but does anyone know how fast this guy is? Looks like he was a star in the CFL, but so is Henry Burris. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkbV9PFK1DE 4.52 in the 40-yard dash at the 2006 NFL combine according to some guy on another board. doesn't sound like he's all that fast, but then again the Bears have a couple really fast guys already. EDIT: Apparently he ran a 4.72 at the CFL combine. Didn't realize they had one. This video has a better shot of a foot race at about 1:10 in: http://www.cfl.ca/video/index/id/14159 Supposedly ran a 4.52 at NFL combine in 2006. And I just read he ran a 4.79 for the Vikings. For comparison: Vincent Jackson ran a 4.46 Roddy White ran a 4.47 Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.53 Hakeem Nicks ran 4.51 Marques Colston ran 4.55 Speed is important, but it 's probably overrated at WR. The Bears have 2 sub 4.3 guys at WR now. But the guy actually looks pretty slow. We'll see.
  11. I don't believe it, but this statement of yours suggests something that isn't true. It's quite possible for a lesser QB to perform better for 2 quarters, yet still not be the better starting QB solution for a team (or even for the next week). Of course that's also the case. Just like Ryan Theriot can outperform Albert Pujols in any given game. But I don't think that one can say Jay Cutler, despite his mediocre first half, couldn't have outperformed Hanie in the later part of the game. Hanie didn't even get significant reps in practice. It's one thing if Hanie got lucky and threw 3 TD's and had a perfect passer rating. Then you could argue that Peyton Manning or Tom Brady couldn't have matched that. But he didn't. Now an injured Cutler, that's a different story. I certainly wouldn't want an injured Cutler who couldn't run or plant in the game over Hanie.
  12. Jennings is pretty damn good. But sorry. Hearing all this talk recently (like from the Bears defense) that the Packers have the best receivers in the league is a joke. Driver is old and past his prime. Jones is inconsistent and drops too many passes. Finley might be the best weapon they have, and he's been out. Who knows what Jennings would do on another team. I suspect he'd be pretty good on the Colts and not so good on the Raiders. I think the fact that the Packers are so good on offense without much of a running game is more a testament to their offensive scheme and Aaron Rodgers than it is to their recievers.
  13. Well, it depends on when he got hurt. Supposedly the new belief is he got hurt on the first play of the 2nd quarter. And while he wasn't great in the 1st, he was better than his performance in the 2nd. But no, we probably don't win the gmae if he stays in. And then the media virtually ignores his injury in order to rip him relentlessly for not being a big game player. It was a no win situation, so honorably he made the decision that benefited the team the most. What a selfish turd. Cutler didn't play so great, true. But there's no way a healthy Cutler doesn't give them a better chance of winning than 3rd stringer Caleb Hanie. If anyone believes that, then they should also believe the Bears should just promote Hanie to starter. And the fact is that Hanie wasn't that far from winning the game. So yes, of course I think they could've won with a healthy Cutler the whole game. After all, the Pack looked like they were going to blow us out in the first quarter and Aaron Rodgers looked like the best QB ever for a while. But he certainly didn't finish that way. No reason to think that Cutler couldn't have played the second half better than the first. But sadly we'll never know.
  14. The problem isn't necessarily size with Knox and Hester. It's lack of strength against the bump and lack of route running ability to juke away from the press coverage. Holmes has both of those. As did the small Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce who worked well in the Martz offense. If Martz is hellbent on going with small fast guys, there is no better small fast guy in the league than Santonio Holmes. Yeah, Holmes will fight for the ball. I'd love Santonio Holmes, though I completely understand the desire for a big WR. I know. Santonio will not be a Johnny Knox and disappear if the ball isn't in his hands. And he's great after the catch. But he's not exactly the type of guy Cutler can throw it at in coverage and come down with it. And where the the DJax vs. Santonio debate come from? I think they're similar. Santonio is better in traffic, DJax is a faster more elusive guy. But I'd take VJax over both of them.
  15. Of the guys mentioned, I like VJax and Rice. Big guys who can catch it in traffic. Edwards made some killer plays this year, but he's got some baggage and he's never been a consistent producer. I'm mixed on Santonio. I'm not sure we need another small fast guy.
  16. New girlfriend time. Sounds like your girlfriend doesn't have to consent for you to have sex with her anymore....
  17. DRose is the new fashionable MVP pick. Never would have thought it before the season. Amazing.
  18. The vast majority of ulcers are caused by helicobacter pylori infection or NSAID (ie ibuprofen) use. Spicy food might exacerbate the problem in some but generally don't cause them. Rose will be fine. A few days on a proton pump inhibitor will do the trick.
  19. He's right, but Rosenbloom still manages to make me want to punch him in the face, even when he's right. Yeah. Kind of surprising to see him take this angle though. I didn't think he would. And then he makes you want to punch him in the face again. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/rosenblog/2011/01/why-is-martz-still-here.html After arguably the best offensive year the Bears have had in the past decade. Not saying I approve of the 3rd and 3 call or the Collins fiasco either. But still. Mike Tice? Worth a punch in the face.
  20. You mean can't? All the Bear fans were happy that they had this ref because he was the one behind the 18 penalty barrage the Packers had earlier in the season. I meant can't. Whenever there's a situation like this you know the ref is going the other way. It's human nature. All the packer fans whining about this game. It was dumb. What do they think? That the ref is a secret bear fan or bet on the game? I didn't know 1 bears fan of any intelligence who was happy with this guy before the game. The whining after game 1 was so over the top. And the whiny ass packers didn't stop during this game. Every freaking play they were crying about a call. And they were getting them. I actually respected them. And they acted like a bunch of bitches.
  21. This is getting real ugly. Not on this board so much but in the media. I don't blame jay for anything more than playing like crap. Hanie gave us a better shot anyways. I'd blame the coaches, bad luck, and yes even the damn officials more. I still can believe the NFL let that ref do this game.
  22. Cutler could've easily done that too
  23. How about a play action bomb?
  24. Where's the flag?
  25. I can't f ing believe this.
