  1. If the Cubs can grab Craig Wilson from the Pirates for a package of Welly and Brownlie then I'm all for it but I could see the Pirates wanting Williams.
  2. let's hope the juice and bad knees will help make sure that Bonds doesn't approach that record.
  3. I would love to Juan gone invited to spring training. As weak as the Cubs oufield is they are gonna need as much power off the bench as possible.
  4. when has he shown up his teammates? :? there was one over-publicized incident against the Astros in June 2004: Z threw a tantrum on the mound when Todd Walker missed a play on the field. Walker called him out on it in the press after the game, which was a mistake: Dusty should have been settled that in the clubhouse, and besides that the Cubs won the game. Z apologized the next day and everyone put on a nice public face after that. The mistake was Z not apologizing to Walker at the end of the inning or after the game.
  5. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/columnists/cs-060217rogers,1,2465320.column?coll=cs-home-utility I wonder what there criteria was in selecting Tejada as the third best player in the game?
  6. They value both of them highly but were willing to consider giving one of them up because Hendry believes Tejada ranks behind only two other players, Albert Pujols and Alex Rodriguez. You can argue you never should trade young pitchers who can dominate, but Tejada forced Hendry to consider making an exception.
  7. Wood was on comcast had some postive things to say about Sosa. I want Sosa's on the teams bench.
  8. With Williams and Zambrano this in shape early and still all of camp/WBC to go hopefully they will get out of the gate quickly. Hopefully Williams can secure a starting spot so he stays in the rotation when Wood gets back. Rusch should be able to help in the pen more than Williams. Rusch can pitch anywhere in relief and can spot start in emergency i'm not sure Williams could handle that role.
  9. Are the any big names on the move that could help the bulls?
  10. Does Dunn makes the Cubs a favorite to win the central?
  11. I saw a link for this on Cubs.com the other day now I can't find a link for the posting anywhere. Anyone have any luck?
  12. As bad as he was last year I'm still surprized that a team hasn't offered him a deal worth around a 1 million to bring fans into the gate.
  13. wow I thought he could stick around for awhile with his bat and ability to be an extra pitcher in emergency.
  14. I would bring him back its really sad , now thats Sammy has hit rock bottom is it enough where Baker could talk him into coming back for a bench role?
  15. do u have link to the shot offer on thursday? Anyone going to Harray Carrays in Rosemont I am gonna go for the toast and have a beer.
  16. what a random game to play
  17. I don't care how much Pie is going to cost of the next few years and very very expensive Dunn is. Dunn is a difference maker. Pierre Walker Lee Dunn Ramirez Murton Cedeno Barrett We have a deep bullpen , a couple of guys waiting at Iowa, and two Aces when healthy in Miller and Wood who projected to be ready May or June Maddux in shape and motivated to get a ton of innings this year.
  18. How does the hall of fame keep everything secure and safe from theft and fire ect?
  19. The Cubs can include Sing so he can take some at-bats away from Hatterberg. Williams,Hill,Pie,Sing for Dunn and Freel.
  20. Sad to see it end this way. It would be fun to see Sosa go for his #600 in a Cubs uniform. If come end of Feb and Sosa still has no team would he be humble and come back? With Baker his backer as a new Sosa attitude maybe back on his side? I am betting this will be a Phil Rogers article.
  21. Wasn't Ryu the guy the Cubs signed out of high school. I thought they projected him as a top of the rotation starter now he seems lucky to be in a bullpen in the majors sometimes last season.
  22. If he bam, bam, bam, let him play at the end of last season, maybe the breaking in period is mostly over. Dusty let Hollandsworth, Dubois, Hairston, Gerut, and Lawton all have a chance before bam, bam, bam, giving LF to Murton. That makes Murton 6th in line, or 'Plan F' in Dusty's scheme. Only a giant ego like Dusty Baker would pat himself on the back when his Plan F succeeds in the dying moments of a failed campaign. Didn't Murton move fast in the Cubs system last year?
  23. Did anyone else notice Sullvian has the payroll at 87 million allowing them room for trades at the deadline.
