Damn. Hard to blame Suzuki on that; he went right on contact. High throw. Almost in.

He tunnels so well. His fastball and his change up are two of the best pitches in baseball. And his walk rate is below 4% so he isn't someone who misses his spots often. I'm willing to give anyone a pass if they misread a fastball or a changeup out of his hand and my guess is that it was the case.

Chase was one of my absolute favorites from this class. There's just something about his demeanor that screams "back end reliever". He reminds me in some ways of Cam Sanders a few years ago. -
Starting Pedro against Skubal the lefty.

He was pretty broken up about the trade, and was crying saying goodbye. Not to the point where I think he regrets it or anything, but it was hard for him to leave that team in some regards. Just my guess, I think the Cubs are doing him a solid by not asking him to throw against his former team, especially so fast.

I think the Cubs have really turned the keys to the pitching kingdom over to Tyler Zombro. I think they had to. I think it will result in a bit of a different approach to who they pick, and how they generally value arms up and down. Zeferjahn feels like a symptom of that, too.
