  1. Apparently, to help ease the money in the deal, Sidney Ponson would be heading to Florida to make it easier for Baltimore to stomach Lowell.
  2. Nomar went 1/2 with a K today as Mesa's starting shortstop. He also helped in receiving a 2-6 DP.

  5. Apparently the Cubs have decided to try Alfred Joseph out at pitcher, despite him posting some pretty good numbers in Peoria and Boise this season.
  6. Hm, I was unaware that they were going to up payroll in a big way next season. Still, teams should always leave a talent for talent trade open, imo.
  7. Toronto seems to be hanging back in the three team slugfest that is the AL East (only 4.5 games back), but I'm curious about the availability of Vernon Wells. To start the season, he was having some issues with the strike zone and was not nearly as effective as he once was. However, lately, he's been cooking with gas. His line for the season: .280/.327/.496 He still is fairly young (26) and could improve on those numbers. Maybe it's me throwing some crap at the wall, but I'm curious as to whether the Jays think they're still in it or if they're looking to unload. Wells' free agency is coming up and, much like Dunn, he will be a more expensive player in the near future. So...what do you people think it would take to pry him from the Blue Birds?
  8. We must have all been Yankee fans in our past lives. That's the only way I can rationalize the torment we endure.
  9. Looks like an intentional unintentional walk here.
  10. I ask everyone else watching...am I the only one who's wondering what the heck happened to this ump's strike zone? He started out the day with one the size of Texas, and now it's the size of a teacup. I hate this crew.
  11. I want them to have a 20 run lead, but that's just me.
  12. Hairston had an initial bad read on the catch, but he more than made up for it by going all out on it.
  13. I'm a nice and happy person in my life. I do my best to be a good guy to other people and remain calm about matters. However, the Cubs somehow manage to turn me into a frothing lunatic. I don't get it sometimes. Way to get out of the inning guys!
  14. Dusty came out to lightly argue, then Barrett called time for a quick conference on the mound. CALL IT YOU [expletive] BUMS!
  15. You just know a grand slam here is coming. By the way, the number of HRs gives up and propensity to lose control, thereby giving up his share of WPs, HBPs, and BBs, makes me think that middle relief would not be the best place to put him.
  16. Hill has 100 times more value as a starter than a LOOGY. CALL IT.
  17. That was Walker's responsibility. And thank Len Freel held there.
  18. Was it even close/ I've seen that pitch called a ball on many occasions. Meaningless double switch time!
  19. Uh oh. Wuertz out for the second straight inning...
