  1. I posted an idea similar to this on that "2006 lineup" thread. Clearly, I would like to see Nixon in Cubbie blue. :D

  3. Thanks a ton for this guys! I look forward to more of these in the future. :D
  4. How about the White Sox unis back in the 70s with the shorts?
  5. Uh oh. Dubois isn't going to be used as a right handed DH, since Hafner's hitting lefties pretty well this season. He'll probably be used to hit lefties since Crisp has been pitiful against them. Dubois might well see plenty of playing time in LF for Cleveland. This could be fun.
  6. There's still a possibility that trade could end up being a bust for bust trade. Minor league performances are awesome and everything, but, you gotta go with ML performance to evaluate trades.
  7. One other thing about the Jason Lane thing... I get the feeling that the Reds aren't seeking a specific player so much as they're looking to pick the top prospects/young players from each organization as opposed to acquiring a need player. Although, I never knew Jason Lane was 29 years old. That kinda surprised me. In other words, they might be asking for the following packages from each team... LA Dodgers: Chad Billingsley, Cesar Izturis, and James Loney Cubs: Jerome Williams, Felix Pie, and Sean Marshall Boston: Hanley Ramirez, Bronson Arroyo, and Anibal Sanchez Baltimore: Erik Bedard, Hayden Penn, and Nick Markarkis etc...
  8. It'd make sense if his splits weren't so extreme. His OPS against lefties this year is .197.
  9. Doesn't Freel have a foot injury that has the word "degenerative" thrown around when describing it?
  10. Here's a thought: What if the Cubs did this because they're going to trade Hollandsworth?
  11. If Cincy desired Gerut in a trade, Cleveland likely would have shipped him off to Cincy by now for Joe Randa, who they are rumored to be ga-ga for.
  12. Dubois given our current roster. However, if Gerut manages to be spun into some big deal for an OF bat, I like it. Right now, I dislike it.
  13. Greenberg's on the 15 day DL. I'm guessing that means he goes to AAA or AA upon his healing. I'm still confused.
  14. I'm in agreement with everyone on this deal. We already have two left handed LFs on this team in Grieve and Hollandsworth. Gerut can't hit lefties worth a lick, so it's not like he can platoon with Hollandsworth or Grieve. He's not much of an upgrade over either, so platooning him with Murton makes no sense. Toss Adam Greenberg into the equation and you got a head-scratcher. If we're releasing Grieve and using Gerut as a 5th OF, I could kinda see the point of this deal, but giving up Dubois does not make it a worthwhile deal. All right, this only makes sense with a trade. What team would want Ben Grieve, Todd Hollandsworth, or Jody Gerut as a left handed LF?
  15. Wait a second, Jody Gerut's a lefty. How exactly is a guy who posts a .208/.302/.311/.613 line against lefties and a .289/.349/.507/.856 against righties supposed to platoon with Hollandsworth, who plays primarily against righties? I'm confused. Are we trading for a right handed LF next or something?
  16. Dubois wasn't going to get any PT with Dusty at the helm, unfortunately. Gerut has experience in the majors and should at least see regular time on this team. I'm guessing Murton gets shipped to AAA after this?
  17. Len Kasper just made a reference to A Mighty Wind! "WHA HAPPEN!?"
  18. WHOA! WALKER! Quit robbing DLee of RBIs!
