  1. That and injuries hampered his season shortly after he got called up to AA.
  2. Unless it was some crazy trade that somehow netted the Cubs one of the top offensive players in the game, I'd call it quits on defending Hendry.
  3. Detroit is looking dominant, again. (against a pretty good offensive team, to boot) 'Nother finals appearance? They have the easiest road to it of any team left. However, if the Spurs and Pistons are playing in the finals again this year, I may very well go blind.
  4. Depends on the situation. If the Cubs' offense somehow manages to turn it around in the next few weeks and they are actively competing for the wild card or division near the trade deadline, then I'd be open to trading either of them for a bat to put the team over the top. However, if it's a desperation move for some one to provide a spark, I'd only be open to it if the guy they got was going to be under control for at least this season and next season. There's no way I would be open to trading for a rental when this team needs something close to a miracle. I'd be more open to trading Guzman than Pie, though.
  5. I like Johnston's potential. Hopefully he can get back to form in a hurry!
  6. Say wha? Shocking, I know. Sickels tends to favor polish over potential, so this article comes to some unsurprising conclusions, imo.

  8. TT will appreciate this one: ES LIMA TIME BABY!
  9. Let's keep it in perspective people. He is facing Low A hitters. I'm happy he's done so well, but I'm not going to get excited until he comes back and does the same (only with more innings).
  10. Off the top of my head, the 2002 season was even worse than this one.
  11. Yeah, like any of those 3 deals would happen. If they were dumb enough to trade Kazmir for Victor Zambrano, anything is possible.
  12. So, how do you think Ryan Dempster is passing time in the bullpen? My guess is he's taken up pottery.

  16. The fact that Jones has a higher IsoD than Pierre made me throw up in my mouth. Yuck.
  17. Jimmy Fallon and Pepsi would disagree with you.
  18. Two one legged men in an ass-kicking contest, imo.
  19. Hey, let's just hope that Pierre gives the Cubs a first rounder and a sandwich pick in the 2007 draft. That'd at least give the Cubs some consolation...right?
