  1. He can throw with the team before he signs in a workout of sorts.
  2. Busy day at Wrigley with all of the pitchers throwing, the Peoria Chiefs in attendance, and Adam Morrison hanging out.
  3. Considering Marshall's and Guzman's injury histories, that's not a bad idea.
  4. Luh-loyd is the bullpen coach in Detroit? I'm speechless.
  5. With the Tigers ahead of this team by miles, it'll take a couple (hundred) innings for the Cubs to get even with them.
  6. Is it me, or does it seem like the only time this team ever scores is when the other team screws up?
  7. Hmmmmm...should I watch this for comedy purposes or Angola/Mexico?
  8. Watch Gooz throw 5 scoreless innings with 7 Ks and 1 BB.
  9. Nope, it's an effort to make them more comfortable with the idea of getting traded.
  10. Jody to Donald Veal: "You see what Glendon is doing there Don? That's going to be you if you don't cut down on those fly balls."
  11. This is the funniest game I've seen since the JK Ryu debacle against Atlanta.
  12. Wait, did Jody bring the Peoria Chiefs along with him to Wrigley? Because they should be paying attention to the Tigers. Guzman up in the pen, HAHA!
  13. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here come the gopher balls.
  14. Correct, but as the leadoff hitter, he will not have as many men get on base ahead of him as he would be if he were hitting, say, 7th or 8th. That stat might be a rate, but it requires a man on first, so it is mostly about sample size and opportunities.
  15. If Walker would have moved Pierre over like he should it would be 2-1.... Yes, because clearly this game is going to be won with small ball.
  16. Walker, Bynum, and Pierre are the only Cubs position players on the team who have hit into double plays at a below average rate this year. Move Pierre down the lineup and that would change in a hurry.
  17. Gee, I wonder why Zambrano is working through a dead arm period when it's not even halfway through the season!
  18. He got mauled by a grizzly on his way to the park.
  19. I'm in the National League now, gotta play like an NL manager. Apparently, in order to manage in the NL, you need to have the IQ of a concrete block.
  20. I'm setting the over/under on the number of runs that score in the rest of the inning at 2.5.
  21. Wasn't he on 2nd? How did he not score? Decided not to test Juan Pierre's fearsome arm, since it looked routine at first.
  22. No Bob, against this team, Jim Leyland would be a freaking idiot to waste outs.
