Correct, but as the leadoff hitter, he will not have as many men get on base ahead of him as he would be if he were hitting, say, 7th or 8th. That stat might be a rate, but it requires a man on first, so it is mostly about sample size and opportunities.

Walker, Bynum, and Pierre are the only Cubs position players on the team who have hit into double plays at a below average rate this year. Move Pierre down the lineup and that would change in a hurry.
