  1. Man, I really would have loved to make it out to the QC today to see two of the top pitching prospects in this organization!

  3. Roast, re-pick. The Panthers were off the board.
  4. Considering Hill's age and the amount of time he's been pitching, I'm guessing that two seamer ain't happening any time soon. It could be that his four seamer looks EXACTLY like his curveballs. It could have to do with his arm angle, delivery, and mechanics. It could be that he tried it and hitters picked up on it really easily. Whatever the case may be, I don't see it happening. He'll be able to have a good career with his two curves, four seamer, and change.
  5. Okay everybody, let's do it in unison! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
  6. As long as he can keep hitters off-balance, I think he'll be fine. I could see him being an effective #3 in his prime. I don't see him becoming anything particularly special, but he should be good enough to keep around for the next few years.
  7. Pretty much the worst that could happen to him. The Royals were clearly hell-bent on keeping him as a reliever for whatever bizarre reason. Problem is, he needed to get his WHIP and weight in line...and was 100 times more valuable in a starting role. Why they didn't start him in the minors this season with the intent of making him a starter is anyone's guess. His peripherals last year were decidedly flukey despite the 3.11 ERA and 9.08 K/9.
  8. I agree. It would be pretty unlikely that someone takes Harvey or Petrick. Harvey has a high enough upside that the Royals, and only the Royals might take him. But is it worth starting his option clock to protect against the slight chance that the Royals try to stash him on their bench for a year? Andy Sisco says hi.
  9. My name is Rachel Phelps, not Jeff Loria! http://www.fast-rewind.com/soms1.jpg I shudder to think of the possibility that the Marlins have a cardboard cutout of Jeffrey Loria in their clubhouse!
  10. It's clear Loria is a psychopath. While Girardi may not be without fault, I find it really hard to side with the same who was brought in to sabotage baseball in Montreal.
  11. [Outshined_One] 2:46 pm: Novoa sucks and will give up the walkoff I called it.
  12. Much like Ron, I'll randomly speculate that it's a pulled middle toe muscle. That or a broken tailbone.
  13. I still can't believe more hasn't been made of that. If I were a Braves fan, the mere mention of that incident would cause me to go flying into a fit of rage.
  14. Cheap move. Bush League by TLR, imo. He got the trainer out to get free bullpen warmup time.
  15. Freddie Bynum only has one weakness: The curveball.
  16. For those of us not watching, can you elaborate? Just know that the topic of racism came up. Shove it, Rosenthal.
  17. I'm pissed off after that interview. That's just a crock of horseplop.
  18. I think Hill sent Bucknor a message with that pitch.
  19. Is there something about being a Cubs pitcher that causes them to give up big hits to backup catchers?
  20. Enough already with how young Pujols is. We all know it's a crock, quit pretending it's otherwise.
  21. I'll get Felix Hernandez prepped for his inevitable career-ending shoulder surgery...

  23. Marco Carrillo is hot hot hot hot! With today's outing, his ERA is at 1.73, his WHIP at .96, his K/9 at 7.34, his BB/9 at 2.16, and his HR/9 at .65. I'll add that he's doing this as a 19 year old in the AZ League. I reeeeeeeeeeeeally want to know what he throws. If this guy projects to have even halfway decent stuff down the road, he could be fun to watch.
