McDonough is indeed the same guy who had lunch with Steve Stone. He and Stone are really good friends, from my understanding. -
I believe that is the case with Girardi, as he basically expected all of his hitters to know how to bunt, save for Cabrera. I'm not too particularly impressed with the IsoD numbers, plus they have six guys with 100+ Ks on the team this season. It could be their talent or it could be indicative of an aggressive approach at the plate. Hard to tell either way.
