  1. I like what Project Prospect had to say about him.
  2. 12? Whoops, mis-read ESPN. 18 HRs.
  3. I can complain about his defense, but quite frankly, he's surpassed all of my expectations at the plate. The guy is a good hitter. One thing worth noting about his minor league career was that the Cubs doggedly tried him as a switch hitter for a number of years in the minors. However, hitting from the left side simply never stuck with Theriot. I can't remember the exact year the Cubs finally gave up on it (I think 2005 before he started in AA?), but once they did, Theriot became markedly better at the plate. It seemed reasonable to think he could be a decent top of the order hitter without much power. This season, he's on pace to have nearly as many HRs (12) as he's had in the minors and majors combined. That's pretty darn unusual.

  5. Thought it was too early for Renfroe. The Yankees have a history of drafting athletic HS OFs and Tate seemed to fit that mold pretty well. Seemed similar to the situations with CJ Henry and Austin Jackson, imo. Remember, they don't get compensation for this pick if they don't sign Tate. I'm aware. Considering they're looking at Purke and Turner, I don't think money will be an issue.

  8. Who the hell missed or misread the sign on that play? That was one of the dumbest things I can remember seeing this team do.
  9. Good thing there was no gatorade machine in the dugout.
  10. Crud. Looks like Soriano had trouble corralling that ball.
  11. Yes Dusty, leave Arroyo in after this inning. Let him go well over 100 pitches. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  12. Sunday afternoon (hangovers, church, etc.), general malaise with the team, and it's summer.
