    He's been pitching since 2004. 6 innings in 2003 between Mesa and Lansing. He wasn't converted to pitching full-time until 2004, iirc. He had a number of ABs between Lansing and Mesa in 2003.

    I know that. I'm saying that if his bat was not in the way, it probably would have hit him.

    Hey, Escobar might have gotten a hit on the next pitch. You never know. He also probably would have taken that pitch on the chin if his bat wasn't right there. Yeah, that ball was at least a foot from his head. Looked like he had the bat close to his head/chest when it hit him. I'll have to watch the replay to double check.

    Apparently it was Renteria. I think Lilly beaned Escobar last year and got the benches to clear.

    Got Lilly tossed for a barely-inside pitch in 07, then elbowed Fontenot in the face trying to steal second. Wasn't that Renteria?

    Came up limping a bit on a close play at 1B and hobbled his way off the field on his own. Could be nothing, could be a torn ACL.
