  1. Oh for the love of... WGN radio and MLB GameDay do NOT comfirm this. CSN's Gail Fisher confirmed it.
  2. Rawling Official Major League Baseballs cost 14.99 with tax at Target. Meeting Albert Pujols is priceless, though.
  3. I blame the fan for the Pirates not scoring.
  4. A broken neck seems unlikely, but you could get a heck of a concussion or a stinger from that.
  5. Albert has administered medical care to him, having stabilized the fan's neck and laid His healing hand upon the fan.
  6. I felt horrible for laughing, but seriously, that guy did an epic face plant.
  7. Is this the same Academy the Cubs got Kemp and Maestri from?

  9. Interesting exception to the signing deadline. Link Basically, if a guy is drafted his junior year, doesn't sign, plays Indy ball, and re-enters the draft, he can be signed after August 17th. This year, this rule applies most notably to Aaron Crow and Tanner Scheppers.
  10. He was pulled after 54 pitches after his last outing. I'm going to guess and say the Cubs are trying to protect him from dead arm or potential injuries from over-use.
  11. Let's try keeping this one on topic, shall we?

  13. I want Aaron Miles to read Desert Solitaire and decide that Edward Abbey has it right. That way, he'll become a Park Ranger in Arches National Park, living out of a metal trailer in the middle of some forsaken desert for the rest of his life. That or he decides he misses the Cardinals so much that he breaches his contract with the Cubs in order to sign up with LaRussa's bunch and hit leadoff every day.
  14. It probably would work out better for the Cubs to just keep winning, and not rely on other teams being bad. That and I wouldn't mind seeing the Giants or Rockies run away with the WC if the Cubs kept winning. It'd mean the Cardinals wouldn't make the playoffs. :D
  15. yeah, this wont end well. For Holliday! :D
  16. Jerome Walton, Pat Listach, and Bobby Crosby all give hima serious run for his money. Ben Grieve, LOL Nice choice. Crosby had injury problems he never fully recovered from, so I'm willing to give him a pass. Huh, apparently Lou Piniella won the award back in 1969. Go figure.
  17. It's official.
  18. As a reminder to some of you in this thread:
  19. Happy for his numbers, skeptical of his continued success at higher levels. His stuff isn't particularly noteworthy, including a fastball that sits in the high 80s/low 90s. He's topped out at 91/92 when I've seen him.
  20. He looks like he's terrified of the thread title.

  22. I also enjoy the thread title for making it sound like Aaron Miles got lost in the wilderness.
  23. Grooooooooooooooooooan. That's the one thing that's kept me from getting too excited about Vitters.
  24. If Castro puts up numbers at Tennessee comparable to what he did in Daytona, he'd probably be in the Top 75-Top 50 range. There are still a handful of questions about him, but he's gone from relative unknown/sleeper in this system to one of the better SS prospects in the game. That's quite impressive.
