  1. I'd rather not bring in Marmol with men on base, especially with his periodic bouts of wildness.
  2. Eh, Lilly's had a history of injuries. I'd rather see him get the rest, especially considering the Cubs' playoff odds aren't looking too great.
  3. Oh God no. They're going to bring up Bruce Froemming.
  4. Yes morons, boo a hard hit ball to the OF. That'll show Milton!
  5. I can see him getting a cup of coffee towards the end of the season. Out of Spring Training, I don't see it happening. As mentioned in the article, what will matter is whether the Cubs decide to be patient with him at SS or move him to 2B and put him on the fast track.
  6. Shortstop's gotta bat second, dude.

  8. Raley took over after Nagel in Boise and pitched excellently, going 3 hitless/scoreless, giving up 1 walk, and striking out 1.
  9. Now that's a handsome man.
  10. Considering they're about another year or two away from going on another insane run with talented and promising young players, that really is not that far off.
  11. Updates Iowa and Omaha are tied 3-3 in the 5th. Esmailin Caridad got the start and James Russell followed him. The three runs came on a So Taguchi HR. Tennessee is up 5-1 in the 7th. Coleman got the nod and got a quality start. Chattanooga is winning 2-0 and West Tenn is losing 3-2. Daytona's game was suspended due to rain. It's currently 2-2 in the 6th. Jay Jackson got the start and only went three innings. Was there a rain delay prior to the game being suspended? Boise just got under way. Jon Nagel got the start. It's currently tied at 0 going into the second.
  12. 4th OF on a good team. He doesn't play CF well enough to play there every day and it seems like he'll be relegated to a corner in the majors. Moreover, because he doesn't exhibit very good patience or power at the plate, he likely won't hit enough to be better than average as a corner OF. Still, the hot streak has been very nice.
  13. Heck no! I'd keep working just to see if I ever could top that amount. :D

  15. Chattanooga also lost, so it's still just a two way tie. Meanwhile, Boise's in extra innings with a 4-4 tie out in Tri-City.
  16. Nelson Figueroa. Randy Johnson, who has owned the Cubs better than any other pitcher has owned any other team in recent history.
  17. 74 to 54 starts is a substantial enough margin that having Koyie Hill catch another 20 games should help close that number between the two of them.
  18. That almost guarantees they'll go out after a QB. I saw Tyler Thigpen brought up somewhere, that seems like a really good idea to backup Brady. Cassel's out for the next few weeks, so the Chiefs might hang onto him as an insurance policy.
  19. I might agree with that if the difference wasn't nearly a whole R/G after 120 games. Perhaps there's something more at work here, like the confidence level of the pitchers ?? The words "small sample size" come to mind.
  20. Levine says no trades are going to happen for either of them. Link
  21. Inevitably, that did get mentioned in the Tribune article link that was posted. It's also been mentioned in this thread..... but what the hell....... CUBS are 32-42 when Soto starts..... 33-21 when K Hill starts CUBS pitchers' ERA in games that Soto starts 4.24..... in games that K Hill starts 3.38 CUBS' Runs scored per game when Soto starts 3.93.... when K Hill starts 5.15 Opponents runs scored per game when Soto starts 4.49.... when K Hill starts 4.00 CUBS run differential when Soto starts -43.... when K Hill starts +62 What's the overlap for when Soto and Ramirez were out at the same time?
  22. And washing your car. And putting on cowboy boots. And ironing shirts you are currently wearing. And removing shrink wrap from DVDs. And lifting pillows. And carrying a deer carcass up a flight of stairs. And being run over by automatic tarp machines.
