  1. So, what alternatives should the Cubs explore if they do not re-sign Ramirez? I'm having trouble seeing how the Cubs replace his production come 2012.
  2. Keeping Zambrano for 2012 is going to be a hard sell to the fans and media. A lot of people didn't like him to begin with, and after his last meltdown, no one will cut Zambrano any slack whatsoever if he comes back. I'm open to keeping Zambrano, especially if trading him will really hurt the team, but I'm enormously leery about it.
  3. This seems like it best belongs here. Link From the tone of the article, it seems the new Front Office will include a decent amount of the old guard, including Tim Wilken and Randy Bush. It looks like Wilken will retain his role as scouting director, but instead of reporting directly to the general manager, he instead will report to McLeod, who will oversee both scouting and player development. This part pretty much sums it up: Interestingly, the article doesn't mention what will happen with Oneri Fleita.
  4. I never realized Sizemore was only 29. That makes him a much more attractive candidate.
  5. MOTHERFUCKERS. [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]. PLAY SOME [expletive] PASS DEFENSE FOR ONCE IN YOUR [expletive] LIVES YOU [expletive] RAPING PIECES OF [expletive].
  6. Thank Buddha.
  7. Teams with a pulse showed up on the schedule? They handled Nebraska with ease. Part of the problem this team has is that it wasn't road-tested heading into East Lansing last week. They played one good team and a bunch of cream puffs at home (ETA: along with a game against NIU at Soldier Field). The moment this team leaves Madison and enters hostile territory, they're vulnerable and sloppy. The Badgers can still pull this off, but they're back on their heels again.
  8. What in the [expletive] happened to the Badgers over the past two weeks?
  9. Yay Badgers.

  17. Technically, it still is his last AB.
  18. Berkman's hitting the ball too well.
  19. He won't be available for the 16th.
  20. If Albert Pujols gets the last AB...Jesus.
