  1. I find it to be a good sign that it was reportedly Baez who broke up the first run-in between Baez and the Clearwater player.
  2. So you're saying the meatballs in Chicago are going to love him?
  3. Not with his contract. I doubt Baez will be better than Castro defensively when he arrives at the big leagues, because of how much bigger he'll be. Baez will look great at 3B. Castro's listed at 6'0 190 lbs and Baez is listed at 6'1 205 lbs. Are you expecting Baez to grow or add weight? Otherwise, I don't think an inch and 15 pounds is that much of a difference.
  4. her "brother" who he had spoken to called him. gave him an address to send flowers to, which he did. Wait a second, so a group of sociopaths are responsible for this now? I thought this was just one catfish.
  5. Or he's gay and made it up because he doesn't want to deal with the Homophobia Trifecta of the Mormon Church, the Catholic Church and the NFL? Which, honestly, makes me feel worse for him than if he was suckered into believing some Canadian girlfriend scam. What if it turns out that Te'o was actually pulling off an epic troll that spiraled out of control? The NFL Draft analysis of that alone would be incredible.

  7. That just about sums it up.

  11. But I want to keep thinking Notre Dame is going to get squashed like a bug.
  12. I wouldn't have it any other way.
  13. Part 1 For those of you who missed it.

  15. I like the thought of a Garza-Samardzija-Sanchez-EJax-Feldman rotation, but that's probably asking too much at this point. Let Baker start the season in the pen to get stretched out and have Wood be long reliever/spot starter/whatever. Guys will eventually get injured, so they'll get their opportunities. That would be a pretty solid pitching staff.
  16. Because that's so much worse than the MAC/WAC/FCS non-conference Wisconsin has had for the last few years. Hey now, Oregon State actually ended up being good this season.
  17. Almora. It's really close between him and Soler for me, but I have a better feeling about Almora than Soler for some reason. Can't quite put my finger on why, though.
  18. This has been a good offseason so far.
  19. Sure thing, Matt. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/assets_c/2012/11/Dobbins%20Jay-thumb-325x394-55382.jpg Matt Schaub Releases Exhaustive List Of Who Deserves To Be On Texans' Roster
  20. It's early and any number of crazy things can happen, but the pickings in this year's free agency class are slim and I'm not entirely sure how to view this farm system as it relates to potential trades. The front office is clearly stockpiling talent, and so much of the high end talent is in the low minors. I'm having a hard time seeming this front office trading away that talent, plus I'm not so sure how far a package built around, say, Javier Baez and Dan Vogelbach would go in a hypothetical bidding war over Felix Hernandez. I'll agree with your second two points, but Baker is such an unknown to me. I find it so strange that the Cubs think he'll be ready for the rotation from day one. Tommy John recovery times have gone down dramatically even compared to five years ago and Baker should make a full recovery, but how exactly can the Cubs expect him to go out and pitch 150 innings next season when he only pitched a third of an inning in the minors last season. I could buy the Cubs bringing in Baker for the bullpen and letting him recover that way (ala Dempster), but penciling Baker in for a rotation slot right out of spring training is just puzzling to me.
  21. 2012 Opening Day Rotation: Dempster, Garza, Samardzija, Volstad, Maholm Projected 2013 Opening Day Rotation: Samardzija, Garza, Feldman, Baker, Wood It's an improvement over where the rotation was at the end of last season, but I'm having a hard time seeing this rotation being better than average without any further additions. Still, I like Feldman and would have been happy to see the Cubs give him another year. It's a good move.
  22. This will happen. And Stanton will bring Brian Roberts and Jake Peavy with him.
  23. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssss Love the sack fumble.
