  1. A: Who cares about pitcher wins B: If he keeps only going 5-6 innings per start he doesn't deserve wins Tell me how that is on Hendricks that he never gets to pitch beyond the 6th inning, regardless of his pitch count.
  2. Jorge doesn't really like to shorten up his swing.
  3. Jesus Kerwin. That was strike three twice on Pedro.
  4. Seriously, the fact that Kerwin and Joe are still allowed to umpire by MLB is a joke. Throw Angel in that group too.
  5. Catchers will soon learn to back up a bit when Soler bats.
  6. I don't think Denorfia is seeing the ball well (batting) at the moment. At least Hererra saved the bacon this inning!
  7. Wow. I thought we were doomed that inning...
  8. He spent too much time bat-flipping to get a good break out of the box.
  9. I hadn't checked the lineup yet, but I assumed when I saw a post like this it was Castillo. And yep. I really don't think it had anything to do with Castillo this time. And the pitch was pretty much on the corner whereas Locke's very first pitch of the game to Denorfia was clearly well off the plate. I think that Jabba and Kerwin need to go find themselves a large pasture and be put there together.
  10. So Locke gets three inches off the plate outside but Hendricks doesn't...
  11. I am giving away my two tickets today to anyone who wants them. Message me on here.
  12. Does anyone need tickets for today? I have two and am stuck in Montana. They are in section 219 and at this point, I will just transfer them electronically to whomever wants them.
  13. lol what? Told the Reds' audience at least twice that the RF bleachers would be closed until next season. Waiting for him to go there again tonight. Chip off the old, mentally deficient block, that Thom. Maybe I was just young and naive when I was a kid, but I liked him in the booth when he was with the Cubs. Now that I am older, I dislike him and his father very much. He just seems bitter and angry at a team which gave him a great opportunity. (Maybe I just don't know the whole story as to why he left the Cubs)
  14. Can't we just have Uma Thurman re-enact her role from The Adventures of Baron Munchausen on stage instead?
  15. Jesus is the #1 starter? Woah. Thought he was a closer. His last contract had incentives for number of saves. =D>
  16. As someone who has an irrational hatred of Valbuena (not sure why), I have no problem with this trade.
  17. I see the Cubs waiting him out unless something amazing comes across the table. One, this would be selling fairly low on him. Two, his potential bat at 2B is worth the risk. He could have league best power at 2B with a good glove there and on the other end you can live with your 2B struggling through growing pains, if he does struggle & he is batting 7th or 8th (80% of 2B can't hit in the post steroid era now anyways). Three, he has struggled in every stint at each level to start.. I want to give him another shot at it. Hell, everyone pretty much expected him to struggle coming up last year (maybe not striking out THAT much but what happened wasn't totally unexpected). Nobody is untouchable, but I hope he isn't moved. He could have league best power, regardless of position. He has too much potential for them to give up on him now. They can bat him lower in the order and tell him to just have fun and kill whichever pitches you can make contact with, and as long as he bats. .230, his walks, glove, and home runs will make him above average at 2nd base.
  18. Not gonna be available, they love him and are trying to compete . I realize it is tougher to get him being that he isn't arbitration eligible for 3 more years, but if the Cubs REALLY wanted, they have the pieces to pull it off and he would be a great LH bat to complement the lineup.
  19. One guy that doesn't seem to be mentioned much for a trade target is Christian Yelich. He is one guy who I would be willing to part with Almora, Edwards, and Vogelfats. The Cubs have enough trade chips to get anyone, but Yelich is going to grow into more power and already is a good OBP guy. Thoughts?
