Funny, I dont remember that. (you're old) :P i don't remember them being bad either. It wasn't that long ago. As recently as 89' the Braves were terrible, and they had been for the better part of the 80's, IIRC. well, there is a good reason. I was born in 88. -
No kidding. That's the same thing I said to my girlfriend, and she said "Are you really obsessive to the Cubs, and do you really think you could manage the team better?" My answers to both questions was yes, and she didn't like it a bit. When I was on my way to the game weds (the last game we won...) I was having a discussion with my friends dad and I expressed my hatred for baker and his stupidity. He basically asked me the same thing, "do you really think you could do any better? The man has been to the world series." I then went into a half hour list of everything he's done that was totally stupid. I think he got the point.

Roast and Erik, I have no idea on what teams Hendry is in discussions with regarding Patterson, but one of my sources did indicate that Corey was being discussed as a package with pitching. Can't shed any light beyond this. Hoops Hmm, thanks. No real surprise there, IMO. A patterson + welly/Mitre/leicester package sounds perfectly feasable.

I'm sure he probably does have an ego. I cant think of many people that dont. However, I think it was greatly exaggerated by the media. The media loves stories of betrayal, the media loves lies, the media loves sob stories. The media loves things that would make good news, period.

Lawton has a .271/.377/.825 line this year. How would that not be an upgrade? He's not Adam Dunn, but that .377 OBP would sure be nice. I guess I had a misperception about his stats both this year and career. He would be nice to have, but the way Hollandsworth is going, it'd be nicer to find a SS with those same numbers. Finding an Available SS with decent numbers is a much trickier proposition. ronnie cedeno? "Dudes too young."

I dont really remember him putting up a fuss last year when he was moved down. If I remember correctly he actually told baker to move him down because he wanted to win. At least that was the origional story that came out. The whole HUGE EGO thing is a little overrated, IMO. Not saying he doesnt have an ego, just not the collosal one people beleive. Oh, and I agree with SCS, we need a spellcheck. I'm sure chocolate milk would agree also.

we understand you like sammy. it doesn't mean you have to make a post like this in every single thread that doesn't praise him. And we understand that people dont like sammy, but do they have to continually start threads about him when his performance has absoloutley jack poop to do with ours?

if they both got hits back to back, Lee would probably faint at the sight of two potential RBI's not including the pitcher being on base LMAO. Its funny because its true.
