  1. Anything Z has ever said. ever.
  2. I hate my life.
  3. 65% Dusty 35% Hendry I won't even rehash the innumberable reasons why Dusty is more to blame than Hendry again in this thread. Go back a few pages, it's all there. (or as much of it as I felt like typing out) and its not hendrys fault that he can bring up all the good young talent he wants (cedeno) but Baker wont play a darned one.
  4. ????? Thats how many days till dusty's contract expires.
  5. Where do i sign? ACtually, the more I think about that the two arms are probably Hill and Nolasco. Still like the deal? Yes. Corey is going nowhere with us. Dope is great, but we have Lee. Hill and nolasco sound very promising, but Dunns addition would help us more than Hill/nolasco's departures woudl hurt us, IMO. Even after they leave, we are still not short of pitching in our system.
  6. We need the pimp. Bhogg needs to start, STAT
  7. We already have Grady Little in our system....
  8. "Cubs sucK" Every whitesox fan in the world. I dont like it, but its true.
  9. Wow, being right feels good. So, that being said, What type of names do you guys think Patterson + dope could get us?
  10. Harp away! I don't see Burroughs as a bench player long term. I think he can be an effective 2B with a .350 range OBP, ideal for 2-hole or 8-hole on a well disciplined team. I don't see Corey's future anymore in Cubbie Blue - Hendry is privately motivated to trade him ASAP. With such low value, Hendry needs to find a team that has a similar issue. I personally am open to any trade that gives the Cubs a player with upside potential. I am sick of Corey. He's just plain awful, and has single handedly killed this team with his incompetence in key situations. I'm not a big fan of Neifi either, so I want him cut ASAP. What other teams have disappointing young talent? Laynce Nix in Texas, Austin Kearns, Burroughs...I really can't think of anyone else... ...What about using Corey and a top prospect to net an impact player? Would Hendry see that as overpaying? Along those same lines, what would a package of Corey + Dope get us? I'd rather not trade pie because of how badly patterson is doing, he could be our savior one day. But with lee's stellar season, maybe we dont need dope as bad...

I like the fact that Hendry wants Corey out, shows me he at least sees the problem, i dont have that same feeling with dusty. Now, you meantioned Neifi being cut. Is that all your personal feeling, or do you have any insight that Hendry might not want him here much longer either?
  12. AGREE
  13. He can play 3B and 2B. Even though he's been struggling, he would replace Macias on the roster as an upgrade, and then compete for the 2B job next year. I don't think Walker will re-sign with the Cubs. Unless we get a new manager, who actually plays him correctly, I dont think he will either. Either way, do you really think its to the point where we should trade patterson for a bench upgrade? Not harping, i'm actually wondering.
  14. Salted shells only, please. I'm eating these salted shell sunflower seeds you speak of right now.....tastey
  15. Roast and Erik, I have no idea on what teams Hendry is in discussions with regarding Patterson, but one of my sources did indicate that Corey was being discussed as a package with pitching. Can't shed any light beyond this. Hoops No sweat. Thanks for the info, though. It'll be interesting to see if anyone bites and what we get for Corey if he does get traded. In a pure scenery change for scenery change deal, could you see Patterson being dealt to San Diego for Sean Burroughs? Can Burroughs play OF? or SS? I thought he was a pure third baseman?
  16. Dubois is not a better option. The guy strikes out every third time at bat and has been hitting .225 since the end of April. I know he has high expectations but the reality is that he has been pretty bad. Hendry has no excuse for leaving Dusty with a pathetic bench. BTW I think Dusty is doint a bad job too, but the bench is not his problem. Macias makes more outs than Dubois, as is incontovertibly evidenced by his higher OPB. And Dusty even batted Macias ahead of Dubois earlier when Dubois was tearing it up, so you can't really say it's because Jason has been slumping. Barrett is a better option. Cedeno is a better option. There is ZERO excuse for Macias to be batting in a bases loaded PH situation with any of those guys sitting on the bench. Zero. Your only reason that Dubois is a better option is that his OBP is .10 pts higher than Macias? Give me a break. Dubois is hitting .167 as a PH and has been absolutely horrible latetly. My guess is that Dusty batted Macias in that situation because Macias makes contact, and didn't want to watch Dubois strike out again. I can't stand Macias, but every statistic (except OBP) warrants Dusty batting him over Dubois in that situation. Just illustrates how bad Dubois has been this year. Actually, Jason has the lead in SLG also. So, out of the three main categories (AVG/SLG/OBP) Macias only has the lead in average. Macias v.s Dubois statistical comparison.

  18. Not necessarily. What if I told you that the Cubs were eyeing Carl Everett? Uh, wow. That coudl turn out to be good, though. We get everett. Wait a week. And then the Sox can trade us their top prospect in return for everett. They've done it twice before.
  19. Is dusty REALLY that stupid? I mean come on, can he NOT see that there are at least four better leadoff choices than neifi?!?!
  20. Rocket, you are today's guess the lineup winner! For your achievement, you get: http://www.dailyvault.com/wham_make.jpg Yuck. Ugly lineup. I hate dusty alot. WHY ON EARTH is he [expletive] starting Neifi, and WHY IN THE HELL is he leading off?
  21. And, uh, what would you want in return for him. Just wondering.
  22. I've never liked durham, personally. And I dont particularly like giving up walker. I'm not a huge fan of gibbons either. I'd rather just go after one big fish (Dunn) rather than adding another .260 hitting OFer. I dont see how that particularly improves our team. Nixon, on the other hand, is an interesting Idea. I wouldnt mind him, at all.
