  1. Plus, his Heart-Index and Moxy-Percentage is through the roof.
  2. If Erstad could stay healthy, I would love to make that deal. Are you serious? He hasn't been decent since 2004. 2005:.273/.325/.696 (BA/OBP/OPS) 2006:.221/.279/.605 2007:.264/.311/.652 Yea, we really need another outfielder putting up THOSE numbers.
  3. SA WEEET PLEASE move him to the sox. I would laugh hysterically at every sox fan I see for the next week (unless they give us Erstad in return).
  4. I remember the Nomar trade. I was all about that...I even started the "New News on Nomar" thread that turned into the waiting room to find out if he'd been traded. That was fun. As for griffey, I'm totally undecided. I went from being staunchly against it when I first heard about it, to now being really undecided. I don't want to give up Marshall for someone who is sure to get injured as soon as he steps into Wrigley, but at the same time, Griffey is having a magnificent year and having him in the middle of our order would kick 8 different types of ass. Plus, we'd get to see him hit 600, most likely.
  5. If you hear something in your house tonight, it's NOT me stealing your ticket.
  6. Hahaha, I love that. and I quote "...#@$%^&" That still makes me laugh. Anyway, my favorite memory is sept 18, 1999. He hit his 60th HR for the 2nd consecutive year. I was there, it was my first game. Amazing.
  7. I was in Arkansas when this happened. but YAY SAMMY
  8. So, I've been out of town since 5:00 am wednesday morning, therefore I had no idea about this. Anyone wanna fill me in as to how good/bad this trade was? I liked barrett :(
  9. Sammy = On Deck. He was obviously just waiting for me to get home to hit his HR.
  10. I'll stand and cheer as hard as I freakin' can. I wont have a voice left.
  11. *Yes CR, we know, the only reason Grace did it was because he was jealous of the attention Sammy was getting. *scratch....Scratch* *yawn* For the love of God, find something else to gripe about.
  12. What TT said.
  13. Give Ryno some time, hell, he's already been ejected 2 (3?) times this year  Also, I have always wondered what guys like Ty Cobb and Ted Williams would do if they were around today. With the advances in medicine (and competent judicial system....COBB) things would be a helluva lot different.
  14. No, you guys have it all wrong. Z was pitching like crap because he was just pitching like crap. And one day he was like "hey, I dont wanna pitch like crap anymore." So he said "I'm not going to pitch like crap anymore" and the baseball, and his body, listened. Z has that kind of power. By the way, this is a Z appreciation thread, take your trade proposals somewhere else! (transactions forum?)
  15. Sammy is SO hitting 600 in this series. And I will pee myself with excitement.
  16. I can certainly see him going to another AL team who is in need of a DH/part time OF. Yanks (eww)? Tigers? Twins? I have nothing behind those names I threw out. I'm just talking (unintelligently) out loud.
  17. That may be the most ignorant thing I have ever read on this message board. But aside from that, I understand what you're trying to say. But your comparison to Jordan isn't entirely fair, for a couple different reasons. One, I dont consider being slammed to the floor quite as terrible an offense as having a 90mph fastball thrown at your head. Being slammed to the floor can injure you, being hit in the head with a ball that fast can kill you. Two, to a lesser extent, baseball is MUCH less of a contact sport then is basketball. That effects the situation because you're used to a little bit more contact in basketball. People bump into people a lot more often, and thus the players are most likely more used to it. Maybe there are people out there that can have a hard object thrown at their head at 90mph and keep their cool when someone says they're going to do it again, but you can't expect that. And that's what I said, I said you can't expect anyone to be able to keep their calm in that situation. Maybe there is someone out there who can, well good for them, they are calm on a level that many people on this planet will never be, but you can't expect someone to go through what Lee went through and then not retaliate.
  18. Young's 511 (maybe more!) wins Cobb's .367 Career BA Ripken's Consecutive games streak. None of these will anyone ever come CLOSE to catching. Things like 2 20K games and back to back no hitters..it's unlikely it'll ever happen, but it's much much more likely than the three I listed above.
  19. I would put my money on Z against anybody on this planet. He's just one of those guys that once you get his adrenaline going there's not much that can stop him. That, and he's freakin' insane. I'd like to see him against Ron Artest. He'd Kill artest. Of course, that's probably why you'd like to see him go against him.
  20. This game is flat out embarrasing. The cubs got into a brawl yesterday, and now SD can say "yeah they took a swing at our guy yesterday and we came back and kicked their ass the next day" I hate games like this.
