    I was still watching in July but it was painful. Very painful. I quit watching in Mid-may last year. It made for a boring, but much less painful, summer. No matter how bad the Cubs are, I couldn't go that long without some type of sport to watch. The pain of boredom would be far worse than even the deep, grinding pain of Cub suckage. I dont know how I made it. But, I did. I just couldnt stomach last years team. I watched on occasion, but it was maybe one or two games every two weeks. Maybe that's why I'm so addicted to this years team...im still in withdrawal from not having a team last year.

    I'm so happy to come home to a "Soto coming up" thread. I'm not all that mad about Pie being sent down. It's stupid, but if they aren't going to play him they might as well send him down so he can play. As for 3 teams being interested in izturis? hahaha. Silly GM's.

    Yeah, he tried to "wear out" our players by giving them 3 at bats. I agree though, he should have played Pujols.

    Haha, yeah, okay. Aside from the obvious fact that that's a LOT a of bats, I doubt MLB would call and say "hey guys, we're gonna come make sure you're not doing anything illegal...so get rid of all the illegal stuff now please"

    No kidding. Dude is on pace to hit..what...59-60 HR, he has an insane OBP, and an OPS over 1.000 that (unlike Bonds) is not driven by IBB.

    While I agree we should have won at least 5 of 7 games this trip...I'm happy with where we are at. If I would have told you on May 30th that "Hey guys, we're going to be a game above .500, 4.5 games back of the Brewers in the division, and 4 games back of LA for the Wildcard...you probably would have been pretty happy. We just had a stretch of great baseball despite our best hitter playing like an injured little leaguer. I'm pumped.
