  1. Holy crap that was insane. I just re-lost my voice that i lost at my the highschool football game last night. WOW. Go d-ward.
  2. Yep. I'll take me some defense of the Baltimore variety.
  3. So am i allowed to want to know the magic number yet...
  4. No kidding. If i were him I would have stood there, took out my camera, put on the zoom lens, and took a few snapshots.
  5. yeah i don't have a problem with the time, but why are we doing it at 10 PM (11 for us easterners)? Can't we move it up to 7 or 8? allright, i moved it back to 8pm CT. Any objections? also, both of you need to set your keepers.
  6. WR- Darrell Jackson
  7. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/KingJME/bearscolts.jpg Oh... But wait...I thought... http://www.takingdownwords.com/taking_down_words/images/superbowlwin3.jpg Oh yeah :) Anyway; here is the one off of my friends myspace: http://a83.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/12/l_9827d31feda74d18a55e1473d8985192.jpg
  8. I wish the eckstein references would stop. While I agree that people (and the media) love their "scrappy", light hitting, white middle infielders; Theriot doesn't exactly fall into that category. Just take a look at their slg/ops over the past 3 years: Eckstein 2005: .395/.758 2006: .344/.694 2007: .363/.706 CAREER: .360/.710 (7 Seasons) Theriot 2005: *Only had 14 PA* 2006: .522/.934 (159 PA) 2007: .374/.724 CAREER: .408/.771 (3 seasons) I realize he's never going to be some bigtime slugger, but he's proved to have more pop than eckstein with 2 more of both homers and doubles over the past two seasons. And while two isn't really a big difference, when you consider he's done it in nearly 300 fewer PA, it becomes a little more significant.
  9. Good lord you have an awesome set of RB/WR
  10. he tripled too : ( My favorite might be Sammy's NLCS camera well shot, mainly because of Kenny Lofton's reaction. Yeah, that one was amazing. You could literally read Lofton's lips. Something along the lines of "Oh "
  11. That has to be incorrect. otherwise, how can a team clinch a playoff spot prior to the last day of the season? that's for the cubs. actually its one plus the number of games left for the cubs since if they win all their games, the worst they could do is be tied with the brewers. Oh, gotcha.
  12. That has to be incorrect. otherwise, how can a team clinch a playoff spot prior to the last day of the season?
  13. why? whats wrong with wanting to know how many games you need to win/firstplace team needs to lose to win the division?
  14. WHAT BOUT CERA! /roasts useless post.
  15. It's getting close to the end of the year, only a month and a half left to play. So, does anyone know how to figure out our magic number? Fred? Or do you have to be in first place in order to even calculate a magic number.....
  16. Agree. Plus, your signature cracks me the hell up.
  17. I can if the game is already a blowout. I don't know. Possibly. But I think at that point a team's pride has to come into effect and they'll either hit him, walk him, or pitch so ridiculously around him that it ends up being the "unintentional intentional" walk.
  18. Trash talking Cardinals fans are generally frowned upon here, but its wolf so I guess thats ok? Lighten up, wolf is fun. This series is gonna be like a fight between two skinny teenagers. Probably neither deserves to win, but it'll be scrappy, ugly, and fun to watch. Yeah, I'm just messing around. I've been saying the Cubs will win the Central all year. I still think so. I actually don't think this weekend's series is going to go well for me. Marshall, Hill, Z and Lilly are much better than what we are going to slop up there. Yeah but the difference is that you guys can slop a pile of old stinky dog crap up there and they'll pitch 8 shutout innings and we can throw a perennial Cy Young candidate out there and he'll tank.
  19. This pretty much sums it up, IMO
  20. So does anyone have an objection to the draft being this Sunday, August 19, at 10:00PM. If I hear no objections by saturday evening i'm going to go ahead and let the draft go down at the time listed.
  21. It's nice, I'm not the hugest fan of the layout but, regardless, it's a really nice site with a lot of cool features.
  22. I've heard through some correspondents that the org doesn't like the idea of a sidearm throwing right hander playing RF. The belief is that he wouldn't be able to make the throw to third base at all when he has to go to his left to make a catch. ETA - these correspondents were not connected to the org, so I don't know for certain if that's the opinion of the org of the guys I'm talking to. Wasn't that one of the arguments against resigning Nomar to play RF. Offtopic: Soriano is the Dominican Nomar. They both have surprising power for their body size and they both do that annoying-ass hop when they make catches/throws. Oh, and they bot had solid careers then came to the cubs and got injured.
  23. The Football Team QB- Drew Brees RB- LaDainian Tomlinson RB- Deuce McAllister WR- Javon Walker WR- Darrell Jackson WR- Terry Glenn TE- Jeremy Shockey K- Robbie Gould DEF-Baltimore BN: Ron Dayne RB BN: Eli Manning QB
