  1. Proctor/Betemit final now according to Rotoworld, I updated the first page. BUt now it's time for me to leave for work. I'll be back on at work if I can. But if a mod would update the first page for me it'd be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Exactly. All hendry would have to say is "We were content with what we had but when this opportunity presented itself we couldn't let it pass by" or something.
  3. Gagne deal seems to be hitting some roadblocks:
  4. He didnt "make" a rumor. He reported what he heard on the SCORE, chill. What he CLAIMS to have heard on the Score. I don't believe him. You guys can be some real jerks on deadline-day. He isn't coming here making any ridiculous assertions about a trade actually happening. He said he HEARD something on the score about the cubs POSSIBLY making an offer to the reds and he titled the thread appropriately. No reason to be jumping down his throat. christ.
  5. Linkege That's from first thing this morning though. Didn't Bruce post somewhere on here that he didn't see any trades happening, but it was subject to change b/c you never know? Oh, I realize that. Just passing it along cause I didn't see it posted.
  6. He didnt "make" a rumor. He reported what he heard on the SCORE, chill.
  7. Yikes, is that me or is that a helluva lot. We better not give up both Pie AND Murton for a 68 year old outfielder.
  8. I like. It's sad that we do have in house solutions for 3 of our 4 holes, but Soto, Murton and Pie won't get any regular time for some reason. No kidding. For the first time in forever we HAVE the solution to some of our problems and we're letting them waste away on the bench/in AAA
  9. So hey, I'm going to keep the front page updated until I go to work, after that, i'll try my best to update it AT work. But, I can't promise anything. If a mod could help me out i'd appreciate it. Anyway, I'm updating the first post with all the deals thus far.
  10. Well good news with church, but hendry has said over and over that they CAN add salary?
  11. I'd have to change my pants if we got dunn. Plz Hendry. Do something awesome and don't just stand pat.
  12. Well yeah, but how does Silva help that? Insurance implies that he can actually help us in a way.
  13. As soon as i announced it Vance, OMC, and Rob ran through and stole all the playboy and penthouse. Seriously though, what the hell is it with Women's health and Highlights...they are in every waiting room ever.
  14. i think he's worried about someone looking over his shoulder at his IM conversation (or someone monitoring it) Just ask him if we're going to Church today. thought he won't openly discuss it, i'm pretty sure he'll send me some sort of word if the deal is done ask if the Nationals are losing their religion Haha, awesome. Now do it, darnit. lol.
  15. I'm pretty sure we had a thread like this last year where we could report deals involving other teams instead of loading up the forum with hundreds of threads. Also, we can just keep the random chatting and deadline-waiting jibberish in here rather than adding unrelated posts to other threads. So anyway, grab a magazine, have a seat, we're at T minus 4 and a half hours. I'll keep this post updated until I go to work, and then if a Mod could take over it would be appreciated: Deals So Far: Cardinals acquire Joel Pinero from the Red Sox for a PTBNL. Link Yankees acquire Wilson Betemit from the Dodgers in exchange for Scott Proctor Link
  16. 3pm central Damn. Thanks, looks like i wont be working much at work today.
  17. So, when is the actual deadline today? 3pm again? If so, then damnit, i'm going to be at work when it passes.
  18. Although I don't trust Sullivan as far as I can throw him, I hear nothing but good news in that article. Pie isnt going anywhere. While the cubs are happy with what they've got, Hendry is still looking. Wood will be back soon.
  19. Not a bad deal for the Phils, I suppose.
  20. Indianapolis Indians (Pirates AAA) vs. Charlotte Knights (WSox AAA) The Knights won 3-2 on an RBI single in the top of the 9th, and DAVID AARDSMA came in to save the game  Anyway, here are some things I picked up from the game: -there was a scout there checking out the Knights, particularly the starting pitcher Heath Phillips. -Ryan Sweeney is a big baby. He went 1-5 with a K and cried like a little baby after he K'd. -The Indians manager can't argue for crap. There was a play early in the game where an Knights player was running to first base after a swinging bunt up the first base line. An Indians defender picked up the ball (It was the 1b I think) and tried to tag the Knights runner as he went by, but very clearly missed the tag by about 4 inches. So the manager came out to argue and stayed out there, just standing there for about 10 minutes (no lie, he was out there forever) with his arms crossed. Either get ejected or sit your rear end down. -That Heath Phillips guy can't hold runners to save his life. People were running on him right and left. -David Aardsma throws really really damn hard. According to the radar gun he was hitting 95/96 but it seemed much faster than that. -Juan Perez, a reliever for the indians, has a really live fastball. He was pounding it up there at 93/94/95 without much effort. He struck out two in his one inning of work (but also walked two). -The umpire was TERRIBLE. Holy crap, I mean he was bad. I was sitting right behind the plate and had a real good view of the plate and the pitches being thrown. The poor pitchers (on both teams) would throw 3 pitches in a row in the exact same spot and 2 would be called balls and one would be called a strike. -Darin Erstad is not good at baseball. He went 0-4 with 3 K's and a walk and he looked completely lost in the process. He did hit one ball solidly but it only made it to the RF warning track. -Finally, I'm really upset that Jose Hernandez was benched, I wanted to laugh at him. EDIT: I suck at typing.
