  1. I assumed that that got filmed at the charity concert thing they're a part of every year (or at least the past two). Because If I remember correctly they always take the stage for a song at said concert.
  2. And Moises "pee on his hands and then ground out ot the left side" Alou Anyway, I bet dusty is pumped.
  3. Oh, certainly. But I was just responding to the "don't get too excited, it's only been 3 games" comment. I would assume people are basing their optimism on the fact that he's been solid for two full years now.
  4. That sentence is one letter away from being the best sentence in NSBB history.
  5. I'm as curious as the next guy, but didn't MLB promise that they wouldn't leak any names? Kind of (read as: very) shady on their part.
  6. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9274196/If/when-Manny-signs,-will-he-be-happy? Funny. I bet if the roles were reversed, Casey Blake turned down a couple contract offers, and Manny made that exact same quote, people would be blasting him for being a clubhouse cancer or something like that. haha the situations wouldn't even be close to the same. i love the people who are defending manny on this one. THE DODGERS ARE NOT BIDDING AGAINST ANYONE ELSE. almost everybody is taking significantly less than what they hoped to get this year, but manny think he's above that. 2/45 of rmanny is more than fair, but that's not even the point. why would the dodgers offer more when nobody else is? does manny not understand how it works? eff him. Again, let me stress this; I am not talking about money, and it does not seem as if Manny is either. But regardless of any of that, Manny most certainly has the room to negotiate here. He already has plenty of money, and he doesn't need to be playing to support any kind of livelihood. He doesn't need the Dodgers. He can afford to wait around a month or two into the season if he has to and wait for a team who is willing to give him more than 2 years. The Dodgers, however, seriously need Manny. Without him, they're significantly worse. Either way, I just have a hard time faulting a guy for trying to get a contract he wants.
  7. I may be interested if there are spots open, maybemaybe.
  8. Well, that, and last year when he hit .342/.400/.534/137 (avg/obp/slg/ops+) in the big leauges (33 games). Oh, and dont forget the last two years in AAA where he's hit: Year - avg/obp/slg/ops 2007 - .319/.365/.552/.917 2008 - .362/.393/.752/1.145 No one is jumping on his bandwagon out of nowhere.

  10. I wonder if he'd accept something along the lines of 4/60? Its only 15 per year but it gives him the four years he wants. I really do wonder if it has anything at all to do with the money.
  11. There once was a man from Nantucket.... That's a long poem. I've always hated poetry of any kind. Say what you want to say. Don't skim the issue so no one truly knows what you are tying to say. Eh, some poems are pretty direct. I agree I tend to enjoy rhyming poetry more, but I have a hard time dismissing it all out of some random hatred of creative writing.
  12. Though I know I should probably think Manny is stupid, I think it's awesome. I hope he ends up playing for the nationals. Or the cubs. Cubs are good too.
  13. Lots and lots of poetry doesn't.
  14. The update on the bottom of the blog says the Phils agreed to front him some of the $2 mil owed to him because of the circumstances.
  15. Yeah, that deal is pretty sweet for him. If he doesn't take it I don't know that he'll be signed by opening day. Unless he's willing to take less money per year for more years somewhere else.
  16. I'm skipping my first class thanks to a minor cold, a severe hatred for my teacher, and the fact that we're not really doing anything of importance in class so it won't hurt me to skip. But my second class gets out at 1:50, so I'll be back in time to listen to the game. yay!
  17. It's probably been said before, but maybe it wasn't about the money. It was probably about the years.
  18. Perhaps it's time for a 2009 thread. also, thank you for that. That was fun to hear.
  19. I'm in class now but the internet in this building is actually working today so i can kinda sorta follow along.
  20. You ask me 'bout this thing we share...and he tenderly replies....It's guy love...between two guys. You're the only man who's ever been inside me! Woah, woah. I just took out his appendix.. There's no need to clarifyyyyyyy
  21. I'll try to listen to the first couple innings before class, but I really cant say that I'm excited yet. I'd normally be pumped like crazy for today's game, decked out in cubs gear, and finding a way to listen to the whole thing; but I just don't feel it this year. Maybe once a couple of these games go by I will, but eh. Stupid 2008 cubs broke my spirit. Jerks.
  22. They make me want to . In fact, I them. Hope that helps.
  23. Haha, I love Dempster so much.
  24. Hahahahahaha, awesome. :-)) That's great.
