  1. Darvish holds it this time. Japan wins again.
  2. Wow - to extra innings we go. Yu Darvish couldn't hold the 1-run lead in the bottom of 9. 2-2. With all the hype surrounding him coming in to the WBC he really hasn't helped himself out with his performance tonight and his start the other night in SD. Should be interesting to see when/if he decides to make the transition to MLB, I think he will either become an absolute stud or an absolute flameout but nothing in the middle. Does he ever pitch out of the windup? Or dose he strictly pitch out of the stretch? I haven't heard a reason why he has been pitching out of the stretch in the WBC since he is a SP. He's got the stuff to be a stud. That slider is marmol-esque. However, judging by tonights game his momentary lapses in control also seem very marmol-esque.
  3. Ichiro likely just won the game. I have no idea why the hell they were pitching to him with 1b open.

  5. I think the biggest problem you got is your closers, especially since Sherrill will likely only keep the closer role maybe a month or two before Ray steps in. Sherrill and Wilson are quite possibly the two worst closers in baseball. Your outfield might be a little suspect because you only have one fill-ion in Cameron Maybin. Magglio should produce nicely and Sizemore is awesome. Hunter will probably a pleasant player to have even though he won't dazzle anybody with his numbers. Your infield is solid, unless Huff decides to revert back to his "Just kidding I actually suck" phase. I like your SP. Lincecum and Liriano should keep it stacked and Dempster and Garza be relatively effective. The others are questionable due to age/injury/experience, but over all those 4 pitchers should keep your pitching near the top, IMO. My closers do suck - but that's because they were pretty much the last thing I drafted. I figure the combo of those two should get me a couple saves and then hopefully i'll pull someone off the scrap heap. As for my outfield - Magglio hasn't been amazing so far in the WBC so I guess that's my worry there.
  6. So this is an NSBB league so it may look familiar to some here. Anyway, it's a 12 person H2H league where the stats are: R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG, OPS and W, L, CG, SHO, SV, BB, K, ERA, WHIP, BlownSaves The stats are kind of odd, I know, but anyway, here's my squad: C Geovany Soto 1B Prince Fielder 2B Dan Uggla 3B Aubrey Huff SS Derek Jeter OF Grady Sizemore OF Torii Hunter OF Magglio Ordóñez UTIL Alex Gordon BN Cameron Maybin BN Plácido Polanco BN Ryan Theriot BN Jarrod Saltalamacchia SP Tim Lincecum SP Francisco Liriano RP Brian Wilson RP George Sherrill P Ryan Dempster P Matt Garza P Justin Duchscherer BN Randy Wolf BN Sean Marshall Personally I'm not overjoyed with my team but I don't hate it. The biggest problem I have is with my outfielders. What do you think?
  7. Ugh, those were dark, dark times.
  8. It doesn't really take away from your point - but why jerseys?
  9. So for those of us who are computer illiterate and didn't understand any of your previous posts - are we going to be seeing any updates on the site or is this all just behind the scenes software update stuff?
  10. I know I don't sponsor any, but I remember seeing that Vance has a few. Off the top of my head: Mike Fontenot Ryan Theriot And of course.. Kent Mercker
  11. Someone once said he could be the "Michael Jordan of baseball" if i remember correctly. Too bad it looks like they meant that quite literally.
  12. F my dorm for not having CSN. You're in chicago, for christ sake.
  13. In what realm is that "bold?" :) It's realistic. Indeed.
  14. Yep. LeICEster in to pitch right now - bottom of the sixth. Kind of cool to see some of the old faces. Sad to think forward to how they collapsed, though.
  15. In what realm is that "bold?" :)
  16. The only way that #1 happens is if Lee suffers a season-ending injury, and the Cubs can't work out a trade with another team for a first baseman for the rest of the season. Item #2 is possible, but not probable. I guess that makes it a "bold" prediction. Well, Lee is already banged up, and if he plays as poorly as he did late last year, I'm not sure how long Lou will stick with him, assuming Hoff is hitting. Highly doubtful though. Yeah, definitely not happening. And poor is a little bit of a stretch: he still got on base at a .361 clip last year and had a 110 OPS+. Certainly not what you want in the three spot because of the low slugging percentage (in the 400's), but not bad enough to be benched in favor of a guy who has 73 career big league at bats.
  17. In what galaxy are those realistic?
  18. Bahhahahah, that's awsome.
  19. On what planet and for what reason?
  20. Ooh, didn't even think of that. I'd really like to see this happen should he recover well.
  21. Samardzija. Ladies love him and when he was in the autograph line at the convention this year his line was approximately 50% female.
  22. That is sexy. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa250/soulschizm/Carmen2.jpg I stand corrected.
