All they have to do is shake him off. Anyway, the game plan is established with the pitching coach, pitcher, and catcher before the game (with most teams). So, I guess the pitchers might get pissed about his receiving skills, but that's about it. He's not a good defensive catcher to be sure, though, but neither is Montero when it comes to blocking pitches. He's still a work in progress and he's learning the position. He's wearing a protective card on his left forearm(just like a QB) with info. about the pitchers and I assume some of the main batters for that night. Plus, he's looking into the dugout before each pitch. He hopped a few times left/right changing positions after calling a pitch and before it was made. Gotta believe he'll stop that soon.
