Who here thinks that? He really improved the team from when he took over. They just kind of stagnated their 3rd year. My dad who is a diehard Tiger fan was telling me 2 years ago how good the Tigers were going to be last year. So yeah I think Leyland did kind of walk into a good situation and Trammell kind of got thrown under the Bus. I also think Trammell deserves more Hall of Fame consideration than he gets Not just consideration. If you look at his numbers, he's a no-doubter. Truth be told I would much rather have had Trammell over Ozzie Smith in his prime. Trammell would have been a no-doubter if it wasnt for injuries. I also think that Lou Whitaker deserves more consideration Whitaker isnt on the ballot anymore because he got less than 3% the first time. His only shot is the Veterans Committee, and we all know how well that goes for players. Its a shame, he deserved better. I loved the Trammell/Whitaker combo growing up.
