  4. Good. I hate 3 and long first downs.
  5. yeah that was pathetic. GB just got embarassed on a Detroit TD. nobody was in the middle of the field to stop him. It's the Toilet Bowl! Kitna just threw a pick 6. good lord

  7. yeah that was pathetic. GB just got embarassed on a Detroit TD. nobody was in the middle of the field to stop him.

  10. old bears kick, new bears go for it.
  11. two bad plays. at least they only got 3
  12. As he should be. He's been returning kickoffs on my Madden Bears all season! :D Good. I dont reallyt like manning back there, especially with harris hurt.
  13. Man i am sure glad im not an MSU fan, that one would hurt. I can't believe how loses like that are becoming so typical for MSU. The loss was a combination of bad plays by MSU and some very good ones by ND. I didnt have a problem with MSU running the ball, ND couldnt stop #23 or #30. #30 was a beast. MSU blew it on the field with turnovers. Rhema had 2 great TDs for ND. I'll go on record as saying Mario Manningham may not have all the hype surrounded him by Ted Ginn, but he is a better NFL receiving prospect. He so much better than I would of hoped for this early in his college career. Looks like Arrington is stepping up to his talents as well.
  14. ....and then they went and kicked Carolina' and Atlanta's ass. Ok the score doesnt show it but the defense smoked those guys. Back to what you are saying. I think this year IS different. Last year nobody was saying the Bears are a great all around team that has a legitmate shot at the SB because the games WERE SO CLOSE, and the offense sucked rocks. So it was important to 'just win games'. The weakness last year was the SOS in my eyes as they were barely beating people. This year (so far) they are totally kicking peoples asses and Minny is playing games close to the vest like the Bears were last year. We knew why the Bears were barely beating people. Kyle Orton and the offense. Its that simple. This year Rex makes that offense run completely different. New game.
  15. I actually like Walrond. Not necessarily as a starter but bullpen arm. I like his delivery.
  16. Like the White Sox of last year in the WS. I think the WS were more like a team that got a great performance out of good pitchers, not mediocre, or great, just good. I'll agree with that. Unrelated: Its hard for me to buy into positions against the braves. They went to 5 WS. Five in 8 years. Winning once and losing twice to the yankees. Lost in the NLDS to the Marlins who won the whole damn thing later. The post 2000 braves arent the same thing as the starting pitch rich pre 2000 braves.
  17. If Rocker wasn't lights-out, then your expectations for a lights-out closer are way too freaking high. And Smoltz was only a "solid closer?" He was a dominant closer. Didn't have anybody like Scot Shields? Greg McMichael's rookie year was better than any season Shields has had so far. Not only that, but he followed it up with a few other good seasons. Chris Hammond had an 0.95 ERA in 76 innings for the Braves in 2002. Remlinger had great years there. You saw everyone I listed earlier. They have routinely gotten great performances from their bullpen. It seems to me- and I admit that my memory is a little fuzzy as far as the Braves are concerned- but haven't the Braves almost always struggled to score runs in the post season. I seem to remember David Justice saying that the Braves valued nothing except starting pitching. They did occasionally struggle to score runs in the postseason, but it wasn't always against great pitching. For example, look at the 1998 NLCS. They got shut down by Sterling Hitchcock...twice. I don't think anyone would call Sterling Hitchcock a great pitcher. There's a big difference between having great pitching and getting a great performance or two by a mediocre pitcher in a 5- or 7-game series. Like the White Sox of last year in the WS.
