  1. I don't even like Olt that much, but unless Vitters magically learns to play 3B, then no.
  2. I probably would have taken that before the season.
  3. I'm still kind of skeptical of a relief pitcher in his late 30's coming off TJ.

  6. He would have if the Tribune still owned the team. The difference was less than 3 million bucks, the hesitancy was far more on the "will Wieters sign at all" or "is Wieters worth his asking price" and not "will ownership be okay with this contract". Remember, this was the June after they went nuts in free agency, money wasn't exactly scarce. Hmm, I thought I had read something to the contrary. Something about Wilken really wanting him but not getting the OK.
  7. He would have if the Tribune still owned the team.
  8. Edwards just gave up his first pro homer. 4/1 K/BB through two innings, though.
  9. The worse offender ever was Jim Edmonds. I've never seen a guy bitch at the umpires more than him. Thanks for '08, though, buddy.
  10. According to weather.com there's no chance of rain for the rest of the day.
  11. Yeah, but a month ago he had no idea where the plate was and now he's had at least a few starts in a row where he's not walking much of anybody. I feel like drastic improvement like that is worth keeping an eye on, particularly when you have the type of coaching/player development we seem to now. Exactly this.
  12. Bryant's wOBA is .438, and that's with the platinum sombrero debut.
  13. Eh. Edwards is probably the only one that matters. Maybe a month ago, but Maples has been owning lately. 18 IP, 15 H, 2 ER, 16/6 K/BB, 2.40 GO/AO
  14. I don't want him moved either, but I'm just trying to figure out how they can play on the same team without getting their 3B reps cut in half.
  15. he looks like a drunk. He's affiliated with the Cardinals. so duh.
  16. We also don't know how the Cubs brass views Candelario at 3B. They obviously have every intention of keeping Bryant there, but for all we know they could just stick Candelario in LF.
  17. Then again, Candelario is still only 19 and maybe there would be no harm in a little more seasoning in KC. Then you'd have to hope they both rake in the first half and get promoted.
  18. Not sure. Candelario has done plenty to start next year in Daytona, and I don't think they'd want them splitting time at 3B/DH and getting half the reps they should be.
  19. I wish we had a real A+ affiliate, because I'd just send him straight there.
  20. Don't forget about the alleged existence of Arodys Vizcaino.
  21. I'm hoping they can dump Russell on some team who thinks he's better than he is and use Rosscup and Rusin as the lefties out of the pen.
  22. The only thing wrong with Verlander is the insane amount of abuse he's taken over the past few years.
  23. Zastryzny with 3 good innings in his KC debut.
