  1. fixed, you're welcome
  2. john harkes sleeps with pretty much everybody in martha marcy may marlene so i don't see why this is a surprise do you think john harkes would rather sleep with alexis lalas or just dead kate upton
  3. two things 1) john harkes will sleep with your wife 2) is alexis lalas still alive
  4. i like this soccer gam thread
  5. would you do just dead kate upton for the 1st pick plus waiters or thompson
  6. you're right, the shortstop and 2nd baseman aren't far apart. good job, good effort
  7. sports media in this town is just awful
  8. If the Ducks win tonight, would Game 1 likely be on Saturday? Alternatively, I assume a game 7 would make game 1 of the WCF likely on Sunday or Monday?
  9. 349 carries....seem like a lot for a college player, no?
  10. big dude, big leg...but yea, he better be really good if you're going to waste a pick on him. He should be able to brush Podlesh aside without any problems. At least there's that. I don't need to see Podlesh punt for the Bears again. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post/_/id/4691604/pittsburgh-steelers-sign-former-chicago-bears-punter-adam-podlesh
  11. Absolutely. Total hipster pick It was the 6th round and they need a punter. If they think he's good, who cares. insert generic the patriots drafted tom brady in the 6th round comment
  12. Brad Biggs said if it's same pace as last year, around 830pm. Doesn't the draft start at 7 pm CT? Only 1.5 hours to get through 14 picks seems light. Definitely light. Teams have 10 minutes to make their pick, and I recall someone saying that last year the 14th pick was made around 8:50.
  13. or trade back for ransom

  15. @RonnieRamos Breaking: Indiana Excise arrested Yogi Ferrell and Stanford Robinson early this morning, for underage drinking and using fake ID. #iubb
  16. so, why exactly are you against him being welcomed back? i'm just asking because it appears that you can't put your finger on it either. Why welcome him back? He walked out on his team and organization. For all we know (and we all know he wasn't clean) he is the symbol of what was wrong in the game during the steroid era, shaming himself by acting as if he couldn't speak English. Sure, he was the "heart and soul" of the Cubs and the only bright spot for so many seasons. I enjoyed the PED Era as much as all of you, but I'm just not ready to let go of my disgust at what was done to MLB. Owners, players, and Selig - all garbage. Sosa and everyone else did it for the money. They ruined the history of the game, which some of us respect. Damn, he was fun to watch play, though. I don't care if they "reinstate" him to the inner circle of Cub Glory. I doubt he'd be accepted by that body - but what the hell did they do? I just like to rant - who gives a f$#% what I think. I still love Sammy, but what the hell is he doing to himself? I think going to leave early today from work because there's nothing else to be accomplished at 4 on a Friday afternoon. In 10 years, I hope my coworkers or clients don't put it against me. For a period of time, I drank a lot of coffee (because the office didnt care at first) and my individual performance and company performance improved likely because of my coffee intake. Problem is, because of my high coffee intake, I ruined the toilets and likely some respect in the history of office bathroom etiquette. But dammit, I drank more coffee because it helped me attain greater levels of performance, and as a result, a higher salary. The last two sentences are hard to equate with coffee, work, and poop so i'll just ignore that part. But who gives a expletive what I think. I still love Coffee, but what am I doing to those poor toilets?!?!?
  17. It wasn't misspending when Hendry was eating it all. so that's why his pants budget was getting tight at the end of his tenure
  18. From Dan Wetzel:
  19. maybe it was tom ricketts who destroyed the boom box And give up all it's resale value? Not bloody likely ummm. how do you think #ptr paid for the new troughs, duh
  20. maybe it was tom ricketts who destroyed the boom box
  21. I think this. There's gotta be a reason that many ex-players aren't openly campaigning for his return. You can't have so many silent people that were on the inside (ownership and FO obviously gone) be this quiet on the Cubs not inviting back their best player of this generation without having a decent reason for doing so. And if there isn't, well god dammit. IMO, it's telling that Kerry (by all accounts, a pretty decent fella) still has some sort of grudge towards Sammy after 10 years, whether it's the cork issue, moping about batting 6th, clubhouse differences, or whatever. I'd like to see Sammy come back eventually, but i'd be really surprised if there wasn't more to the story than we're led to believe. And as mentioned previously, if there isn't, well....sigh. Which ex-players are you expecting to be campaigning for him? Wood is like the only one of any signifigance from Sosa's time that still has anything to do with the team. Just a few off the top of my head that *could* vouch for him: Dusty Baker, lord of the "Players Coach," hasn't said anything. Granted, no one would put much stock into it anyway, but given his players coach mantra and his overall distaste for the Cubs, it's not hard to imagine him criticizing the Cubs for ignoring a Cubs great. Mark Prior, while minimally involved, now has good relations with the organization after a few sour years. Greg Maddux, or Maddox, as earlier mentioned. LaTroy Hawkins But whatever, I'd still wanted to see him back. Just thinking that there's more to it than the one time he walked out on his teammates on the last day of the season and oh his boombox was loud that other time. Prior played with him for 2 years and is unfairly considered a joke by the vast majority of Cubs fans. You dismiss Baker well enough on your own so I have no idea why you even brought him up in the first place. Maddux barely played with him in '92 and then again in 2004. There's really nothing to it beyond the Cubs being stupid and trying to placate the meatballs. 1) Prior came up in May of 2002, so pretty much 3 years. Seemingly enough time. 2) Baker because "but given his players coach mantra and his overall distaste for the Cubs, it's not hard to imagine him criticizing the Cubs for ignoring a Cubs great" 3) Maddux would likely have enough pull to calm down the meatheads even if he only played with Sosa for essentially one year. For the third time, it would have been great to have Sosa back yesterday. And if it's as pathetically simple as cobs being cobs, then well dammit everything. But I find silence from others to be a leading indicator rather than it being just noise and/or coincidence. The one guy who would have the best insight would be Pat Hughes, but he's obviously not going to say anything controversial one way or the other for obvious reasons. Or steve stone

  24. If the offseason, the cubs sign Mike Adams and Koji Uehara, maybe take a flier on Joakim Soria, it's easy to imagine this bullpen being in much better shape next year.
