  1. That's crazy. I'm happy with Mitch as it stands right now but I might take the reverse scenario where the Bears keep 3 and the other picks and trade a 2nd for Jimmy
  2. For some reason I always group the McPhee, Freeman and Hicks signings together even though they happened over 2 offseasons. I think because they all were guys who were not impact guys out of the draft and either took a few years to become starter quality or were excelling in part time roles which allowed the Bears to get all 3 at a decent price. All 3 of them have performed well when they are on the field but McPhee's knees will never hold up (which was why the Bears were able to snag him) and Freeman can't stay out of PED jail. Hicks has obviously worked out and then some.
  3. So I guess the moratorium on news during the World Series is now a moratorium on news during days where World Series games are played.
  4. I turned it off after the Dodgers were retired in the 8th with the score 11-9. I knew there was still a pretty good chance the Dodgers would come back but I had to get some sleep.
  5. I'd say this series is going 7 but I think Verlander is going to throw a gem tomorrow. What a series...everyone said our series was great and in many ways it was but in that one you had 2 good games, 1 all time classic and 4 games that weren't particularly competitive. This one has had 2 all time classics and 2 other good games and it's only 5 games so far. Yeah the juiced ball and no pitching does take some of the fun away but overall this has been an amazing series.
  6. horsefeathers it, let's make Z the bench coach I could totally see Joe coming out to lightly argue a call and Z right behind him screaming obscenities and pointing at his head.
  7. Here's the report from the actual article. Sounds more like imminent means "end of season" to me but I could be wrong. If they were going to do it in season it would likely come within the next 2 days otherwise it won't be until end of year.
  8. Really pisses me off that his career might have ended with a horribly overturned TD call
  9. I like everything about his skill set but this is a bug not a feature well, you can look at it from the development side or the scouting side. from the development side it's a reason, from the scouting side it's a big. If you are choosing the less developed QB, he should probably have the higher upside. I believe Mitch does.
  10. Just threw a bomb to Will Fuller on his first past in the toughest stadium to play in. Yes, he wouldn't nearly be good on the Bears but it's looking like the Bears screwed up. read the article. throwing bombs isn't what makes QB's good. Then read this article: http://uproxx.com/ksk/f-k-it-im-throwing-it-downfield/ Edit: geez it's been awhile since I've read that article and my worldview and tolerance for words in that article has changed. Maybe don't read it
  11. Just threw a bomb to Will Fuller on his first pass in the toughest stadium to play in. Yes, he wouldn't nearly be good on the Bears but it's looking like the Bears screwed up. And now just threw a pick 6 How can you say it's looking like the bears screwed up when presented with a ton of stats that show his performance has benefitted from luck and playmakers not to mention you are drawing this conclusion based off a 4 games and comparing QBs that are in vastly different stages of their development. If you want to argue that the Bears should have drafted Watson because he is more polished and maybe more of a sure thing to be at least serviceable in the NFL, then fine but that opinion was already determined before either stepped on the field and nothing we've seen so far makes a difference. I like the risk the Bears took and I think Mitch has shown me enough to make me because he has a higher upside than Watson.
  12. he's a rookie. get the horsefeathers out of here. Meanwhile, Deshaun Watson might be the NFL MVP youre right case settled. 3 year college starter with 4 receivers better than the Bears best WR has performed better after a handful of games mostly on his ability to throw 50/50 balls and have receivers that can catch them.
  13. Yeah Mitch is a huge bust. The kid has the arm and the ability to make tough throws. The key to whether he turns out to be anything is how well he learns to read defenses as well as being able to make good decisions on passes. I really don't think a 4 games is enough to decide that he can/can't do these things) and with this receiving corps it's kind of unfair to make any conclusions on what we're seeing.
  14. Ahh well. Kid is going to make mistakes and make bad throws. Terrible throw though. Had to have been miscommunication
  15. He's had like 4 completions of over 20 yards in the air (if you include the overturned TD). That alone is unTebow like
  16. Must be nice to have a FG kicker you can count on
  17. Huge penalty to stop the clock
  18. That was terrible playcalling partially because it didn't work but how do you NOT run on 1 of those 2 plays? Makes no sense. I realize the irony of calling for the Bears to run more
  19. The 1 time I want them to run..
  20. Holy crap. Let's go win this
  21. I know. I was thinking "sweet either this is batted down or an interception"
  22. Wtf just happened there? 2 bears defenders just let the ball fall between them?
  23. Well assuming horrible Barth doesn't miss the theoretical XP, the blown TD overturn is now the difference in the game (or the offsides on the FG attempt). Thanks refs
  24. "Now do you go for 2?" Are you horsefeathering kidding me?
  25. Would really prefer to get the TD first so we can see whether we need a TD or FG if we're fortunate enough to get the ball back.
