  1. Guys - jamfan does not approve I know shocking
  2. That's crazy....that's like Kershaw's signature move.
  3. I really don't know much about Trey Burton...what are his strengths (sorry dont have Athletic sub)? Is he signing to be as starter?
  4. yeah i can't wait to hear a ton of white sox, blackhawks, and 70's rock talk. And OKC Thunder basketball Why is he a Thunder fan? Something about his son liking them or something?
  5. Well I don't hate Mac...he's ok. Will be good to have him back before his next opiate relapse
  6. If that board and their sources are correct, they are saying Bernstein and Connor McKnight mid-days and Mac and Parkins afternoons.
  7. in case you have trouble finding it because the address moved, its www.chicagofanatics.com
  8. This is what Goff gets for never unblocking me on twitter But seriously I did like Goff with Bernstein. It wasn't just a cheap knockoff of Boers and Bernstein, it was something different. That said I am interested to see what happens in the afternoons
  9. What are their options besides keep him or cut him? They could try to trade him but I doubt he'd get anything all that great. Would rather just give him one more shot to show something and stay healthy and cut him when he inevitably gets hurt (or let him go in FA).
  10. Sounds like Watkins is their top target
  11. You look like Anthony Rizzo in that picture
  12. Cool Jake tribute video [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
  13. Why would the Packers be in on Robinson? They have like the most expensive receiving group in the league and they need to spend money elsewhere because they have holes everywhere on defense. There have been tweets that the Packers and 49ers are our biggest competition for Robinson. Speculation is Nelson and Cobb are seen as possible cuts. What's up with Nelson, is he just washed up, not the same since his injury, or his numbers suffered from not having Rodgers most of the season?
  14. Also saw the Bears are linked to Jimmy Graham
  15. Rizzo for Cashner will ultimately be better I would guess. fWAR as a Cub: Rizzo: 23.9 (6 seasons) Ramirez: 25.8 (8.5 seasons) Arrieta: 16.5 (~4 seasons) What we gave up in all 3 cases is negligible for the most part. Cashner has had the most success but he's been on several teams since the Cubs traded him. Sure, but that isn't including Lofton's WAR, and not subtracting Cashner's. But now that I think about it, the Sandberg trade and Sosa trade both prob beat Aramis. Right...Cashner has like 5.6 WAR since the trade. Lofton had 2.1 WAR with the Cubs in 2003. With Rizzo signed for 4 more seasons, its a pretty good bet that he will eclipse either of the other 2 trades
  16. It’s up there if it isn’t the best with the others mentioned here but also Bobby Hill and some guy named Matt Bruback for Kenny Lofton and Aramis Ramirez was pretty damn great. Lofton was awesome in that 2003 playoff run and Ramirez goes without saying.
  17. Almost forgot how epic his final Cubs start was....might have lost the series but we got one last great Jake moment [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Damn, nice pick up. Can't believe he was out there for so long
  19. Personally swatting down whatever that little thing was that the Pirates had going on for a couple of years. This will be the enduring Arrieta memory for me. First playoff appearance of the Theo era, franchise on a 9 game playoff losing streak, wild card winner-take-all game on the road. He crushed their souls so badly they threw at him just to try and get him off his rhythm. Arrieta responded by stealing second base, and then finishing the last 3 innings of the complete game shutout. Maybe this isn't entirely true but horsefeathers it: Jake Arrieta broke the Pirates beyond repair.
  20. I agree. He was like our little secret in 2014 since the Cubs were awful. The best was that game against the Red Sox he almost threw a no-hitter. I mean the Red Sox had been battering this dude for years as a Oriole, now all the sudden he's dominating them.
  21. Save some of your anger for stupid Davidson too
  22. The committee appreciates Syracuse’s enormous efforts at trying to be the 36th at large team every year.
  23. Wow USC a big miss. We had them at 31
