  1. Well the Hawks just placed Crawford on IR. Will be interesting to see the severity of the injury. But considering how much he's been doing to keep the Hawks afloat, this was not a good time for an injury.
  2. Happy birthday Javy
  3. And then pretend we never won the world series "You saw Ben Zobrist do what in the video? No...no that is a fake video you saw, it never happened. Have you seen Zobrist hit lately?"
  4. I haven't watched a ton but when I do it looks like they are mostly using him as a spot up shooter. They need to make him and Dunn the focal point of the offense rather than watching Holiday jack up 25 shots per game. Yes tanking blah blah blah, but I don't want to finish 10-72, I don't think its good for the culture of the team and the perception to FAs for a potential quicker rebuild. You suck too badly for too long and you are now a big market version of the Kings. Didn't really affect the Sixers all that much when they were finishing with records like that and then landing Embiid and Simmons. Yes, if they land talents like Embiid and Simmons. They are the exception and benefited from lotto luck and other luck (Embiid dropping because of injury). They have made 17 draft picks in 4 years, 7 in the 1st round and 4 in the top 3. The Bulls currently don't have any 1st round picks other than their own (I think) and I'm not sure I trust GarPax to make those types of moves to get into position to make that many picks. I'm not saying that being that bad dooms them, but we've seen more than a few teams strip it down and start over only to spend years developing a winning culture around the talent they pick up in the draft.
  5. OTOH that's 6 straight games of Lauri shooting no better than 41% on 14 FGA/G Hope he finds his stroke again I haven't watched a ton but when I do it looks like they are mostly using him as a spot up shooter. 11. Now 1-9 with Indiana/Duke, Nebraska/BC and Minnesota/Miami left to go
  12. Any good stories of player interaction? I saw this on reddit from last night:
  13. http://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/shohei-ohtani-theo-epsteins-white-whale-japan-jed-hoyer-mlb Oh, LOL Kaplan wrote this...have the Marlins hired Jim Hendry yet? I know, I noticed that afterwards
  14. Well we do know he has the ability to sack Garoppolo at least.
  15. As expected, Theo really wants this dude badly: http://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/shohei-ohtani-theo-epsteins-white-whale-japan-jed-hoyer-mlb
  16. Soooo B1G is 1-6 so far in the ACC Challenge so far

  18. Through halftime tonight, Lauri’s last 5 shooting games: 1-9 (tonight) 4-10 4-16 1-9 4-17 Total: 14-61 (22.9%). Yikes
  19. Hate to say it, but he was probably right about Cutler. Maybe, but his choices to replace Cutler were Matt Cassel and Kyle Orton so not sure he should get credit for that.

  21. Is someone we should be so sure is choosing between New York, Chicago, and LA. There's a very good chance that this is a guy who would easily play in a third-tier city like San Diego or Milwaukee if they checked enough of his other boxes. Perfect, KB and Ohtani can hang out and be sober together and then talk about how sober they were when they are sitting out next afternoon's game. Then when Bryce comes they have a legit trio of sober bros.
  22. I haven’t even seen the reports or am reading them very differently if we are reading the same stuff. Most of the perceived value in geography based on the speculation seems to be the Japanese population in a given city but there is not a single quote from Ohtani or a rep over years and years where this is or will be a factor. How is it a factor to him? He wants to be on the west coast/closer to Japan? Or he just wants to be on either coast? Or just wants to live somewhere with a significant Japanese population? Can't do anything about living on the coast, but Chicago has 6 different airlines that run direct flights to Tokyo so its not out of reach for him. In terms of Japanese population, California holds a huge advantage over any other state. Outside of California, you are looking at about 38k Japanese Americans in NY (state) and 34k in Washington (state) and 17k in Illinois, virtually all within the Chicago area. A little over double the population in NY but NYC metro has nearly 3x as many people
