  1. there is no way that can be true. why? Because winning comes first in the NFL. Why would Reid, on the week of a playoff game, allow him to take time off to prepare for an interview for another job? I get that Reid has traditionally called plays as a head coach, but doesn't make sense to me to change things up before a do-or-die game.
  2. could we have kept him if we called him to europe for the friendlies, or is this a result of the US not making the World Cup?
  3. there is no way that can be true.
  4. This Jags/Bils game has less action than the MLB offseason so far
  5. I don’t think this is photoshopped. Assuming it’s not, this is like the greatest thing ever [tweet]https://twitter.com/peterock141979/status/949723960048017408[/tweet]
  6. Something!
  7. Apparently this was said during Sat morning baseball show on score: [tweet] [/tweet]
  8. Kap talked to "2 Super Bowl GMs" about the Bears coaching search and got some negative responses I think he's still going but im tired of copy+paste
  9. Did he retroactively not go to Seattle or something? I'mma be honest, I thought Derwood was gonna come in here and be like, "Dexter was on the 2015 team?" It’s a misleading title in a transactions thread. $20 says Derwood has been tricked at least 3 times seeing this thread bumped and thinking he is signing with the Mariners
  10. I'm inexorably confused by the words I'm reading right now I understand your confusion but this is a total Bengals/Brown family move. When I was in Cincy over Xmas, multiple in laws half seriously said he’d probably get extended
  11. If they played in a real conference they would have been lucky to win 9 games this year Right and some teams aren’t in a position to join a real conference so either they create a new championship for the Group of 5 or they expand to 8 teams and give them one spot out of 8. The power conferences can get 7/69 teams a chance to win, the rest get 1/60 so it still greatly benefits the power 5 teams to play in power conferences You can even include some provisions where the Gof5 champ has to have 2 or less losses and meet some random SOS benchmark to qualify or else it becomes a 3rd wild card
  12. Is it bad that there is an undefeated team out there that was good enough to beat a top team who beat both championship participants and they were never even lightly discussed as a potential playoff team? Really need 8 team playoff with the Power 5 conference champs, 1 GoF champ and 2 wild cards. If we can’t do that you might as well separate the power 5 conferences from the rest because why play in a league where you have 0% shot at winning a title?
  13. I don't have the slightest problem with this. You can't have a collaborative effort without these guys involved, and Pace gets to make the decision. The contract extension guarantees he's in charge of football opps. Yeah I don’t have a problem with the methodology, I just have a problem with the other 2 guys giving input
  14. Hah imagine the McKaskeys offering a share of their ownership for a HC
  15. I’d guess not a ton. Pace basically staked his job on Mitch being the Bears QB for awhile. If they hire a coach who gives up on Mitch all the sudden his rope is very thin.
  16. Honestly this is one of the weirder things I’ve seen in sports. Yes I figured they were better than a 3-20 team but they went from that to nearly unbeatable. Never thought the Bulls could win 10 of 12 this season.
  17. Wow 3 years, 52m. Not too upset about not being the team to give him that contract.
  18. update:
  19. whoops!
  20. Just posting this because this might be the slowest day in recorded NSBB history. Finish off the season strong mitch
  21. Ive been saying it: Trubisky was the right pick I missed this earlier but Watson plus the draft picks used to move up is looking like the better move than trading up to get Trubisky. Meh. I’ll take the QB with 2 less ACL tears right now. Maybe that changes in the future. And if Trubisky turns out to be an all-Pro QB I really don’t care about what the Bears gave up to get him. I like what I’ve seen some Mitch enough that watching other QB options like Watson and Jimmy G do well doesn’t bother me. IF* we get the right coaching in here to develop Mitch properly I think he’s our guy for the next decade. *big if
  22. it's been a pretty fun mitch game, which is the only thing i care about even a little Seems like it’s going a lot better since halftime when I posted it. I was kind of hoping we’d lose for better pick and to ensure the Lions remained the only 0-16 team ever (but mostly the former) but a win with Mitch looking good is more than fine by me
  23. Not watching but based on the score it looks like this game is meeting expectations
  24. LOL. If I am reading this right, if the Packers put Rodgers on IR without a new injury occurring GB is required to release Rodgers when healthy per the rules. It will never ever happen but if he was released, the Packers would have to resign him to a larger contract I’m sure. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21863467/teams-complain-nfl-green-bay-packers-violated-ir-rule-think-aaron-rodgers-released
  25. We now resume your previously scheduled tank
