The more I think about the lineup the more bizarre it is. The starter is a lefty so I get Almora playing, but leading off? Russell hitting cleanup? Schwarber and Happ are 2 guys you PH for against a lefty in the 7th yesterday but they are both in? Caratini has a .560ish OPS against lefties this year (albeit SSS) and is in? Crazy ass Joe. This will be the lineup that gives us our 20 run game of course
Is it ok to hate the Astros because we were supposed to be the mindblowingly great team for an extended period of time instead of just the 1 season (followed by being very good for multiple seasons)
This is a game where a Cubs team playing well keeps adding on runs and ends up winning like 11-5. Insane that the Cubs might get shut out for 6 straight innings in these conditions against these pitchers.
We’re 1 game up in August, it’s a 1 run game and the wind is blowing out. Edwards threw 9 pitches yesterday, he should definitely pitch the 9th If it’s Justin Wilson I will...do nothing but yell but I’ll definitely be angry online
Happ is a .670 OPS vs lefties this year. Caratini is .574. I don’t think anyone would have minded if they let Happ hit and PH Almora for the pitcher. But like someone else said, he basically picked Caratini to bat over Happ. Yeah but Caratini’s sample size is like 20 PA. He had an OPS over 1.000 in an equally small sample size last year. With that little to go off of you have to assume normal platoon splits are the way to go
